i ask for something that could never be
i ask for concessions all humans could see
i ask for permission to revise human-kind

i ask to replace greed with respect
i ask to take crime by the neck
i ask to feed the hungry in kind

i ask that births would not outstretch our means
i ask for some mercy for those growing through teens
i ask for great wisdom to be placed in my mind

i ask for mirth to replace all the woe
i ask that every lost-soul would know where to go
i ask to stop fighting over which church has The sign

i ask to build buildings and save every tree
i ask that the oceans stay clean as can be
i ask that the water we drink be just fine

i ask that our food not make us sick
i ask that all justice be right-equal and quick
