Don’t Cry for Us
Found all alone in a room cold and dismal,
the price of the heat was not worth his life,
watching a telly that had long lost its picture,
final breath whispers the name of his wife.
Don’t Cry for Us
Slumped she was, over the bathroom toilet,
veins now cold where they once ran with love,
eyes hold the memories of children she cherished,
in her arm sits the needle with a tied rubber glove.
Don’t Cry for Us
Killed by the side of a road in the desert,
given no warning and with nowhere to run,
destroyed at the hands of an invisible enemy,
hand clutches the picture of his new baby son.
Don’t cry for us
The Policeman couldn’t help but cry at the vision,
a tiny young body all battered and dead,
instead of her love, he gained mothers hatred,
for want of a cuddle, got a fist to the head.
Don’t Cry for Us
Don’t cry for us as we cannot be hurt now,
we have found peace and have nothing to fear,
you are the ones in a world filled with violence,
If you feel you must cry,
for yourselves shed a tear
