I Heard A Story

I heard a story repeatedly told
A story two millennium old
About a child born to make everyone free
A blessing to all sinners even one like me.
Wrapped in the manger he quietly laid
Little knowing the price that so soon would be paid
So I say with the deepest feeling to all that can hear
