WELCOME to THE CONFESSIONAL!

teams.jpg picture by endurance_bucket

This is the newest feature of EoDK where select members of the group have been designated to post blogs of episodes of Endurance.

Our official bloggers are
bandgeekconnor5, EnduranceFanChris and SurvivorJay39. Connor was in E5 and being a former contestant himself will be able to bring an insider's perspective in our favorite reality show. Chris, just turned 12, brings in a young person's point of view.  Jay as a long time member of EoDK and fan of Endurance promises to bring his real opinions about this year's season.

Look forward to their blog entries and it should be fun and entertaining and a great addition to our message boards for discussion.

Now the Rules for the Confessional:

1. Only Official Bloggers can post entries. All other entries will be deleted.

2. There will be a [Post Comments] link at the bottom of each entry to link you to the general board for discussion.

Hey guys,
It's me Jay, and as some of you probably know, I will be posting a blog here after each episode of Endurance Fiji with my opinions on it.  It may offend some of you fans or players, but I hope not.  I have no idea what it will contain until I write it.  I just hope a lot of you will read and enjoy it.
See you Oct 13th or 14th,
        Jay Mackey

Preseason Contestant Opinions (Part 1)

By: Jay Mackey

Briana

Even Briana has commented on her cast picture making her look mean or pissed off.  Who knows, she could be the season's "villain".  She was shown what seemed like yelling at another contestant in the promo, but we also saw her consulting Cinnamon when she was crying, so this could go either way.  One things for sure, she will be interesting.  Briana is home schooled and I wonder if that will have an effect in her game play.  Sure she isn't around a lot of kids at school, but I'm sure she still has friends, so that probably won't play a factor in her social game.  She claims her favorite place to do homework is in a tree, but wouldn't being home schooled mean all of your work is home work? haha.  She spends 4 hours a night 4 times a week dancing in her dancing studio, so it seems like she will be fit for the challenges and a tuff competitor. But personally, I think she WILL be getting a villain edit and will be turned into the "bad girl".  I don't think I will like her too much.... there.  That took a while.

Andres

Andres seems very athletic, not just by his picture, but he has scored a touchdown in every game of football he’s played and is one of the only two freshmen on the JV track team at his school!  He seems like a huge fan and I'm really pulling for him.  I think he may go far into the game if he gets a good partner.  It doesn't seem like he would rub people the wrong way and will become friends with others very quick.  Guess we will have to wait and see.

Cinnamon

I must say, when I first saw Cinnamon, I could see her as a girl scout.... but a black belt in Tae Kwan Do???  Wow, she’s impressed me already.  It seems like she could do well if her size doesn't hurt her.  It may take a while for people to get to know the real Cinnamon, and in this game, that may be a problem.  Can't wait to see how people react to her personality.

Ben

If you haven't noticed already, Endurance picks high achievers.  Most of the contestants it seems like are straight A students.  Ben is no exception.  He is involved in Destination Imagination, Future Problem Solvers, Knowledge Bowl, Science Fair and the Student Council..... wow.  How does he find the time for that and Endurance?  Guess we'll have to watch and find out. Hope he has time to watch it. He is another super fan and seems really nice, so of course, I'm rooting for him. He doesn't want to lie in the game, but if it means staying for a few more days, he will, and in my opinion, he should.

 Hannah

Hannah has a very interesting story.  She really wants to be on the red team and every time she has been on the red team in any competition, she has won.  It will be interesting if she makes Red!  She is also very cool in my eyes, and I will be rooting for her too.  Her tape was very funny and I'm sure she will be a good character.

Caleb

I think we all had our first opinions on Caleb.  With his bio saying at least twice that his big muscles were really going to help him through the game and he wants Julie from E4 as a partner “because she’s hot”!  I didn’t like the look of Caleb on Endurance because he seemed too “big”, no that’s not it…. Full of himself?  No, that doesn’t fit well enough either.  It’s not that I don’t like him (I like him more know than I did at first) but I just didn’t want to be rooting for him for some reason.  I guess he was a jock and Endurance geeks RULE!  But I have nothing against him and want to see him do well.  By the way, I’m sorry, me explaining that may have been too harsh on him!  I still don’t know why I didn’t like him at first.

Jackie

I am so happy we are getting more people from the boards this season!  If there is a season now on without anyone from the boards, I will be mad!  Back to Jackie, I really like her.  She’s a huge fan and I want to see her go far.  I was glad to see that she is very into her culture and really respect her for that.  To be the first Chinese girl to win the game is a great goal.  And she ate a bug for her tape!!!! Haha, me too, but I guess her bug was bigger.  I’ll be rooting for you.

Connor

Like I said with Ben, Endurance picks some smart people!  Connor ranks third out of his class of 852!  With his book smarts and his Endurance street smarts from being such a big fan, I can see him going far into the game.  He may be a good contender for this season’s strategic player, but we all know we still love last season’s strategic Connor from High Sierras.  Can this season’s Connor blow Connor (E5) out of the water?  I say no, but then again, no one will.  But they shouldn’t be compared because they have the same name, but too late…haha.  Anyways, Connor, good luck!

Jordyn

At first, Jordyn reminded me of Jeszie from E4, but now I can see that she looks a little calmer and not as crazy, but who knows!  I was shocked to learn that she pushed a parked car down the street for her audition.  With that, I think she will help make a strong team and go far.  We don’t know much about her yet, but she was nice to me when I talked to her, so GO JORDYN!

Jonathan

I was surprised to learn that Jonathan is such a big fan of Endurance.  I figured he would be the actor/model who was there “cause he could be”.  That’s how it looked to me.  I guess it was something about him not looking like your normal fan.  He looks like a model or an actor who wouldn’t watch the show, but I was glad that he is such a big fan.  I can see myself rooting for him.  He seems like he will be really strong and dominate in the challenges, Caleb has some competition.

Lauren

The third Florida girl of the season!  Like a quite a few of people from this season, I found her bio a little...blah.  Not much really exciting there, but I hope we can learn more about her on the show.  Sorry I don't have much here, but I need to learn about her more first.

Kyle

I don’t know much at all about Kyle yet.  He is another person when I saw him, I didn’t really like him.  But again, I have come to like to him more.  I think it was the hat he was wearing in one of the pictures…haha.  But I’m not sure, I just got that vibe.  Not really that much on Kyle yet.  I will have to see more.  By the way, there is another fan named Kyle, who I think would of rocked this season if he got on…

Leslie

Leslie was this season’s winner of the girl’s poll voted on by fans.  I was fine with Leslie making it because I liked all the girls on the poll the same.  She seems like she will do okay and so far I don’t have anything against her, I just don’t know too much about her.  Her brother was on E2 and so was Connor’s sister.  Will they form up in an alliance?  I say 100% yes.  I just hope that the others look out because together they could dominate.

Matthew (MJ)

Matthew, or MJ as we know him, is one of my top 3 favorites (Becca, Andres, MJ).  He is from the boards and I’m sure we are all glad he made it and will represent us.  He says he likes completing jig saw puzzles to relax him.  Is he crazy?  Jig saw puzzles do nothing but frustrate me.  Guess he will do good in any puzzle challenges!  His season’s strategy contains an "omniscient packet of soy sauce".  Will to be similar to last season’s Mungo?  MJ won’t comment on that, so we will have to wait and see how it comes into play.

Rebecca (Becca)

As most of you already know by the numerous posts I make, Rebecca "Becca" is my favorite so far.  Ever since the promo (I LOVE PAIN) she caught my eye and has been extremely nice about everything.  She is super funny, if you haven't seen her videos on youtube yet.  She runs 3.1 miles A DAY so I'm sure that she will be able to endure anything that comes her way.  She's also a super fan, but is new to the boards.  And she already has a kick ass strategy.... go up and hug everyone so they will feel comfortable around her, and when people feel comfortable around her, they won't want her to leave. GO BECCA!

Will

Will was the winner of the boy’s poll voted on by the fans.  I was hoping we would be voting on die hard fans, but in Will’s situation, that wasn’t the case.  I heard from one source that he hadn’t seen a single episode by the time he was on the plane to Fiji, but from another that he watched Tehachapi.  Guess Will will have to clear that up soon.  It seems Will is the actor who is there for fame…since he acts and he wasn’t a fan of the show before.  I was rooting for Bryce to win the poll, but that’s not why I’m saying this about Will.  It just seems that way to me.  It will be interesting to watch him play though….hmmm.  Keep in mind, I DON'T HATE WILL!

I wrote this on Wednesday but it was deleted (my fault) so I rewrote it today.

Hey guys!
It's Connor from E5, and I will be blogging about this season of endurance and adding my opinion on things. As a general not for all of my blogs, I will try to find a fine line between sharing my thoughts and avoiding bashing. If someone's doing something I disagree with, I'll say so, but there's no reason to resort to name-calling and bad language. I know how much that stinks. So with that being said...

WOW! the beginning of this episode was craaaaazy, the editing of the new theme song was really intense and their location is SO COOL. The beach is beautiful, the huts are cool, the temple is intense! I found it weird not everyone got a free night though after going all the way to Fiji.

I was impressed with how hard everyone fought in the Right to Stay challenge and they were up there for a long time. But it also didn't look all that hard, I mean I'm sure it started to hurt your body for just having to hold yourself up that long, but they had gloves and there was a knot on the rope...haha.

So now to the players. This was the first episode and most of it was introductory or challenge stuff, so I won't have too much to say on everyone yet.

Andres- Sad to see him go, he seemed like a really nice, laid back guy and he took the defeat with class. His effort to fight to stay on the rope was great, it was too bad it didn't work out for him.

Briana- Throughout the episode she seemed outgoing and it looked like she would get along with many and get into a good position. But the preview for the next episode basically killed that whole image...Let alone hurting someone's feeling unnecessarily, I just don't get the thought behind putting a gigantic target on your back like that. It's not smart gameplay, don't be surprised to see her team be one of the first sent up to the temple.

Ben- Didn't see too much of him, but seems like he'll get along easily with people, plus his bio said he's a big Endurance fan which automatically gets you a few points in my book. He also has the long dark hair which I'm sure the ladies will dig, and that can only help, haha.

Cinnamon- She was one of the most interesting characters in my opinion. The smallest girl there, yet she does tae kwan do. Looking so poised in the RTS in the beginning and offering encouragement, yet she ended up slipping. I think she is another example of why it's better to wait until you're 14 or 15 to try out. When she was talking to Hannah and Jackie it looked to me like she was anxious to make conversation, but talking partners so early freaks people out, and of course being the youngest had to make the RTS harder for her. Her elimination was a sad one, but she should be proud for holding on as long as she did at her age.

Caleb- He's the type (jock-ish personality, muscle man) who I would usually root against, but I actually liked him. He was funny in the deleted scene. I would just about put money on the fact that he'll be in the dominant alliance of the season. He's one of the most athletic there, and he seems to have a chill personality that people will like. The pair of him and Jonathan could be very dangerous, they seemed to be talking a lot and getting along well, and both of them seem like strong players.

Hannah- Definitely a fan! She seems like she'll get along great with everyone and she got through the RTS with what looked like little effort. I think she's in a good spot and I wouldn't be surprised to see her advance far in the game. She's also very pretty, which has little to do with the game but is always nice to hear, right? haha

Connor- If there had to be another "Connor on Endurance," let me the first to tell you I am SO GLAD it was this kid haha. "This water is really pretty but I don't wanna go in it right now," "I love you rope." He's hilarious!!! I'm sure he will play smart, it was pretty clear everyone already liked him. He will be a fan favorite (if he isn't already) without a doubt and I'm hoping to see him do well.

Jackie- "I'm here to prove I'm not just some nerd"-HECK YES. Gotta love that. She made it through the RTS so she's well on her way to achieving that goal haha. I like her and I think she will be another fan favorite. She's a big fan and I'm sure she will play the game wisely. We saw her talking with Hannah in this episode; I think that would be a great alliance!

Jonathan- He seems like he could be a very dangerous player. From his personality and his looks he seems to be very smooth and, I'm not saying I think he would do so based off his personality, but if he needed to pull a manipulative move I'm sure he could do so successfully. Again, teamed up with Caleb they could do some damage.
