Yupp will be down in bed for a couple of weeks.  I plan to have a laptop so I can check in but if it goes like the last operation I will be doing a lot of sleeping and resting. Got to stay off my feet for a while.
The Doc is reshaping my left foot like they did to my right foot a couple of years ago. Hopefully when it is all healed I will be able to walk normally and wear the correct size shoes. Right now I am wearing a size and a half bigger shoes because my feet have broken bones in them and they grew back wrong. So they have to saw the bones almost in half and then re-break them and then drill a hole in the end of the toe and run a long steel pin down the inside of the bones to hold them straight. And then the real fun comes when they pull those pins out. Without any anesthesia. The last time they did it (on my right foot) I just about put the intern into orbit.  I bet he will not straddle someone's foot again when he does that. I have waited a long time to get this done and will be happy to have it all over.
They gave me a check list in the Pre-Op room to fill out. The last question was;  Do you have any questions you wish to ask the Doctor?
I wrote; Have you ever done this operation before and how many of your patients survived?
No answer yet.

Wish me luck
Sarge

Hang in there, Sarge. Look at the bright side that you survived the last operation well and that foot is clearly in better condition now. So by hunting season, PFC Trent should be able to use you as a pack animal....

Thanks Laz and Steve. I hate to lay around and do nothing. I have guns that need fixing or building and a classis car with body work only half done. But it is giving me time to catch up on my reading and writing. I can hardly wait to go camping with my family and get back on my motorcycle.  Patience is not my vurtue unless it is waiting for an elk or deer to take another step or two into the open.  But I am thankful for the VA hospital's skilled Doctors and excellent care. It was sure worth staying in the Army for 24 yrs. This operation would have bankrupted me for sure. With my VA medical benefits it will cost only $140 for the whole operation.
