Well. I never thought I'd be writing this. The Golden Tiger Inn was created by Lady Adlin on November 15th, four years ago. Four years later, I think it's about time to close its doors. With the loss of the MSN chat room, we lost most of our members, both regulars and newcomers. It was a big blow for us, bigger than even I thought it would be. We found ourself in GCN, and at first things seemed to be going well, but it didn't stay that way. GCN is overrun with "adult" rooms. It was hard enough to keep the GTI clean and safe normally. Add to that a place where there are more adult rated rooms than any other type and ad banners with half naked women on the bottom of the screen, it became virtually impossible. What new faces we did see in the room didn't stay long once they found out they wouldn't be allowed to kill or sleep with anything that moved. I tried altering the rules to give people more freedom, but it didn't help, and I refuse to let the GTI become what it was created to stand against. I thought of moving to a few different places, but my computer won't run EyeChat, and no other place I've found has the options to moderate the room that we need to keep it the way it was meant to be. Now we've lost even more of our regular members. I can spend night after night alone in the chat room without even one of our hosts showing up. The simple truth here is that people have lost interest, and I cannot do this alone. Due to health and personal issues, I can't be in the room every night all the time right now, and I don't seem to have anyone willing to help me, no matter how many times I ask. I'm not saying this to make anyone feel guilty, it's just an explanation. I can't fault anyone for being busy or having other interests. It's the way of life. I will keep this community open for anyone who wants to Roleplay here, or just to say hello. I'll also keep the GCN room registered so that people can RP there if they ever choose. I'll even stop in from time to time and see if anything has changed. Maybe the GTI can be revived at some later point in time. But I don't think I'll be keeping the room open on a regular basis. I just can't, not on my own. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the GTI through the years. You've all meant a lot to me. Most of the regulars know how to contact me, so I hope we don't lost touch because of this. The GTI was the first place I ever roleplayed in, and you have no idea how much it hurts to see it come to this, but here it is. I wish everyone the best, and maybe, just maybe, something can be worked out in the future to bring it back. Myranda |

I dont understand. Why not use the chatroom within the community? I know that Snowy Palace still uses theirs, and its free and such. Even better, you can be selective about its memebers so the 'bad adult stuff' would stay out. I was hoping to start rping here again. GTI was the first place I ever rped, and it holds good memories for me and my typist. If the place has moves to another server I will follow after it. I dont want to see a great rp establishment fall just because it ran into a bit of bad luck. -Zud ( [email protected] , talk to me people, ive missed joo! =3 ) |

I appreciate the idea, but we tried using the community room before and it didn't work. I spent hours sitting there alone. We have lots of members in the group, but most of them we've seen all of maybe once or twice. I don't even see most of our regular members online very much anymore. I'll make sure the room is available, but if there's no one to play in it, there isn't much point. Myranda |

Well I don't want to see that happen any more than you do. I've worked so hard to keep this place going. But if you look through the list of members, only a small handful ever actually came to the room more than once. And by the end, even our regulars weren't coming. Some got lives of their own, some had found other places to roleplay. The fact is that for various reasons, I cannot sit in the room all night every night. Not when no one is coming. It might be different if there were others there, but night after night I would sit there for hours, literally, by myself, just waiting. I have better things to do with my time than to stare at a blank screen in hopes that someone MIGHT show up. It's not fair to me to have to do that. Call it selfish if you like, but that's how it is. Yes, we do have a community chat room, and it is available. But no one uses it. We had a chat room in GCN, but no one used that either. The occasional new people that would come in wanted to play slaves or sleep with anything of the opposite sex that moved and kill anything else, and anyone who has ever visited the GTI knows exactly how I feel about THAT. I would rather it roll over and die, as you said, than to allow that kind of thing to contaminate everything the GTI was supposed to stand for. I've looked at new places to go. I tried out Eye Chat, but my computer won't run it, and there's very little activity there anyway. I tried Oasiz, but again, there's no one there to have any interest. nd even if there were, our own people aren't interested anyway. If you have suggestions, by all means, tell me, but I'm at a loss. Its been a long time since i have even set foot back into the GTI but i have been keeping an eye on the place and from what i am seeing things arent looking to good when i was around the chat room was a place to just sit down relax and have some fun but now from what i am seeing time is begging to take its toll and people are begging to drop out and quit but to keep this place alive i will use up all the resources that i can and find a place to go to and bring back the old days. Heck maybe Adlin might have a way who knows she may want to return and keep her home alive i know f i was the one who created this place i would try all i can t keep it alive they say time always takes away the things you cherish well lets prove them wrong and show hem a new meaning to immortal if i find anything that we can use i will realay it to you that instant. and for the people that have lives my hats of too you there will always be a place to come to and relax we just have to keep it alive Remember one thing when making your choie on the fate of this Chat there is always a way to fix something it just a matter of finding how to and do it your self or finding someone who know how to but just never give up |

I wish to send my apologies to everyone from the GTI. I've really been one of the worst offenders of the closing of the room. But I'd like to make up for that. I'll be hosting comm chat sessions for anyone thats interested, usually between (EST) 8pm and 10 pm, but come on in anytime and I'll try to be there ahead of ya ;) Anyway, I'm sorry once more and I hope to see some people there.
