Aine opened the door quietly anf poked her head in, keeping Silme hidden in the sleeve of her gown. Stepping inside, she ran her fingers through her amber curls and lowered her gaze slightly, noticing a place beside the fire and carefully picking her way across the floor. Her emerald orbs alighted on the gathering of people around the room and she stayed silent.
A large gathering of people for such an out of the way place...
Silme mewed a little and nuzzled her mistress's hand, begging to be let down. Aine's rosebud lips curled into a little smile and she gently plucked the kitten out of her sleeve and set her on the floor, watching her scamper to the fireplace and curl up on the rug.
At least she seems happy here. But me? I shall have to wait and see...
She kept her head down and took a seat where she could watch Silme, sliding her silver cloak off and folding it into her lap, curling her legs beneath her.

Aine nods a little, taking another sip of her tea, smiling a little.
It sounds fascinating.
She takes a honey cake and absently breaks it into pieces as she listens, popping one into her mouth. Silme pads over to Sting and purrs a little, sitting next to him and nudging him gently with her head. |

Drake takes another sip of tea nodding " Hmm yes. despite what the bards and gleemen say it is not all that it is made out to be. You are always travelling. You often sleep cold or wet or hungry, somtimes two or all three, You go into places that no sane person would go, knowing that it could be your last day, and when it is said and done you will probably do it again at some other dangerous place." Drake takes another sip of tea and adds smiling " Not that I am complaining of course." Sting nudges back purring as well. He gives Silme a gentle lick. |

Aine smiles a little over her teacup, glancing down at Silme and Sting before back at Drake.
Bards are told to make the best of everything, it is how they earn their keep in society, and also how they encourage people to put themselves in danger. It does sound like that was a very hard life.
She shrugs a little, finishing her tea before pouring herself another cup.
Silme mews at Drake and pats him with her paw a little. |

" Yes, could be at times, but because of it I have my own tower and inn, not to mention the position I have and of course the memories and friendship with my companions." he took another sip of tea and snatched a honey cake of the tray " Alas, " he continues, Those days are behind me now." A somewhat sad looks comes over Drakes face as he takes a bite of honey cake but it passes. |

Aine nods a little, looking down into her cup at her own reflection, sad green eyes looking back before she looks at Drake again.
I know how you must feel. Having to leave it all behind is extremely hard...
Silme jumps up onto her mistress's lap and nuzzles her gently, purring before settling down in her lap. |

Drake nods in agreement " Yes, yes it is. I still think about them, after all that we went through we are like brothers, and I miss then every day.". Sting looks up at Aine's lap cocking his head to the side expectantly. Drake looks down at Sting giving him a good scratch on the head " Leave her alone I do not think she wants to play anymore. you will find something else to do yes?" Sting walks back to the kitchen his head haning somewhat low. |

Silme leaps off Aine's lap and patters after Sting, mewing and batting a little at one of his legs.
Aine smiles a little and takes another sip of her tea, looking at Sting and Silme, then at Drake.
It is hard to forget, more's the pity. If it were easy, leaving would be easier.
She shrugs a little, wrinkling her nose and looking down into her teacup. |

Drakes sighs a little " Yes, you right I suppose, no sense in dwelling in the past, yes?" he takes a sip of tea and sets the cup back on the saucer. " But that is enough about me, tell me a little about yourself, if you are willing." Sting gives Silme a little tap and half runs, half flies to the couch, he crouches and waits, his tail swishing. |

Aine wrinkles her nose a little, adding a little more hot tea to her now cold cup, shifting slightly in her seat to get comfortable.
I was born in Eire, Ireland to others, a fair while ago now. To be truthful, I cannot remember exactly how old I am, but when I was born, magic was still rampant on those isles, and I am living proof of it.
She smiles a little and waves a hand over her face, appearing for a moment to be sallow-skinned, dark-eyed and brown-haired, before waving over herself again, returning to her normal appearance.
Silme skitters after Drake, mewing before pouncing on him playfully. |

Drake nods and listens intently " I must confess I have never been to...Ireland nor have I heard of it. what is it like?" he asks finishing his tea. Sting rolls over a little and gives Silme another little tap |

Aine grins at Silme and shakes her head a little.
Careful, little one. He may not want to play with you if you annoy him too much.
Silme sniffs a bit and prods Sting with her paw as Aine pours more hot tea into her cup and looks at Drake with her bright green eyes.
Ireland is...dark, mysterious and rampant with magic. It is the place I hold dear to me in my heart, and one day I hope that I may return.
She looks into her cup, frowning a little into it before shrugging a little and adding milk and sugar. |

Drake nods " It sounds..very nice, mayhap some day I will visit this Ireland of yours." He freshens up his tea and offers Aine a little more Sting rolls back over and crouches down in a pounce position. |

Aine nods at the offer of more tea, wiggling her nose, her teacup sliding itself in front of Drake on its saucer.
Alas, the Ireland I know and love is slowly fading. With wars and the loss of faith in magic, those I know and love, and their kind, may cease to exist, as well might I.
Silme mews, swishing her tail at Sting, padding towards him on dainty paws. |

Drake is silent for a moment as he seems to be thinking of what to say. Finally he speaks " Things......must change Aine, it is the ways of things, the way of the world, spring becomes summer, summer becomes fall, fall becomes winter, then winter becomes spring again, always going forward and never back." he takes a sip of tea " I know your Ireland is changing but mayhap some good will come of it yes? Another spring" he smiled sympathetically at Aine Sting eyes Silme, his tail swishes a little. |

Aine nods, holding her teacup to her lips, hands trembling ever so slightly. She takes a sip before hastily putting it down, not trusting her hands to keep it steady.
Life is a changing thing, I know. I've had many centuries to learn of the changes of life. But it breaks my heart to think of those I care for, and our way of life, simply disappearing into the great blue yonder. I suppose I mourn for that which I cannot change, which is beyond my power to change...
Silme purrs softly, crouching a little way away from Drake, eyes twinkling mischievously. |
