Kit cried out with Glee as Loyalty galloped through the woods, Knowing Leti's mount and Firestorm could catch up easily. They were heading for a big dangerous city, filled with gangs, murderers and rapists, Kit could hardly contain her excitement as they rode. She glanced back at Leti and Demetri and giggled, Her fiery red hair flew behind her as Loyalty picked up speed, She could only imagine, Firestorm and Ghost would only be to happy to catch up with the mare:: |

:: Kit was not paying attention to Demetri's thoughts, she was trying to catch any stray thoughts of Vincents. However Loyalty listened to everyone and looked to Demetri catching the thought of his Desire for a kiss and growled softly at him, and hissed. This caught Kit's attention and she looked to the guardian in bewilderment.:: What? :: The cat growled at Demetri and paid no mind to Vincent as he left:: ((nothing...)) :: Kit just shook her head dismissing it at Loyalty simply didnt like Demetri. Kit herself had lost some trust in him. She wondered now if he had forgotten it was her mother who offered the protection at the Golden Tiger Inn. She also wondered if Vincent had realized this. She would guess not as Myranda and Lucian had adopted her. She waited a long moment after vincent left before speaking:: Your going to hand over Desmond?...How do you plan on doing that? My mother is not stupid, she'll not allow you to force someone against their will outside her protection...And it would be unwise of you to try and challenge her.. |

::Demetri had to stop himself from laughing, at loyalty hissing at him, and at kit's wonder about how he was going to offer Desmond up::
its actually quite simple, Plan A: Desmond already believes we are going to leave to challenge the Dark Seekers, then i just betray him.
::he stated simply, the earlier desire still burning within him, not quite thoughts, simply an emotion::
or plan B: i let him hear my memories of the last couple of hours, and he attacks me, which would give me the right to defend myself, would it not? |

:: Kit just shook her head, these didn't sound like solid plans to her Plan B would only work if Desmond was stupid enough to attack Demetri, and even then there was the possibility the fight would just be broken up. Plan A left her feeling unsettled, again she distanced herself from Demetri, he would notice the slight chill in her attitude toward him. Loyalty purred and nuzzled Kit's cheek, this distracted her and she smiled scratching the guardians chin:: ((Fool...)) :: Loyalty's voice trickled into Demetri's mind so that Kit couldnt hear:: ((Are you trying to impress her? Your going about it the wrong way....You'll not win her heart by boasting how easy it is for you to betray someone...Why do you think she has named me "Loyalty"?....)) |

::Demetri's eyes narrowed, he hadn't thought of it like that, he knew that he was doing it to take focus off of himself, which even yesterday he wouldn't have thought twice about it, but now...::
hmm... its true though, at the base level, i am betraying someone who has put they're trust in me...

but i only do it so i can stay at the inn myself, i'd never be able to live like that, caged on the land of the GTI, afraid to leave in case they should make a play for me, or i could take them all out (its not impossible) but at the very least i would have to leave for decades, and i simply don't want that

:: Kit didn't notice his pleading expression for she never looked to him. She had started to walk back toward the village and her back was to him, while petting Loyalty whos musical purr could be heard. Kit did however say back in a somewhat sassy challening tone: Well it certainly takes a brave and strong man to sacrifice someone else so he doesnt have to face his own buddy the boogie man.... :: Kit continued to walk to the village having the urge to change her clothes once again she looked up to the stars becoming completely lost in thought in what she might wear, from time to time she would have difficulty focusing. As if to prove this to herself she began to sing. She sang soporano, the song was a cheerful and lovely tune like a happy lullaby as was Kits usual favorites to sing. Whether or not Demetri followed she didn't look back to check. Loyalty once again spoke to Demetri:: ((Real smooth Demetri...surely you'll receive that kiss you want so badly....)) :: Loyalty laughed... While Kit continued to sing obliviously:: |

::Demetri laughed hard, following her, once again wondering why he cared what she thought, whatever the reason, with a little thought he quickly came to realize that he did indeed care::
save myself? thats a good one, perhaps i shouldn't have made any such deal, perhaps i should have let them have you? loyalty would make no difference to them, sure some would die in an attempt on you, but there would be more than enough of them to win out against such odds

my friend is not the boogyman, far from it, like i said, he is the only one of them i can even think of who would make such a deal, but i suppose that is besides the point
::he said, his mind still racing on how to heal they're apparently breaking relationship, however minor it might be::
i only take such a deal for you, you know, but if its not what you want i can certainly end it, i suppose i now have two options available to me, i can not complete the deal and have to leave, apparently that would be for the best

:: Kit stopped her song and glanced back at him:: Do what you wish.......... :: Loyalty leaped down and shifted into a mare right beneath Kit raising her up. The guardians laughter was heard in the back of Demetri's mind once more. Kit looked down at Demetri seeming once more...sadly unimpressed:: You made such a deal for me? Because the Dark Seekers wanted me?......My hero... :: Her tone was sarcastic, and it was obvious she didn't believe the Dark Seekers would be after her. It was himself he was trying to save:: Arrogance is not becoming of you.... :: Loyalty stomped her feet a bit as Kit leaned down looking deep into his eyes and said almost in a hiss:: I don't need you to protect me.....yah! :: She hadn't waited for his reply she had nudged Loyalty and the Guardian took off leaving him to make whatever choice he wanted, they were heading back to the Golden Tiger Inn:: |

::he couldn't bring himself to laugh... not only had she not believed him about the dark seekers, but she had actually re focused the blame on him. not for the first time was he almost shaking with rage::
fine, if she won't believe me about the dark seekers, perhaps i should take up a contract with them, make them come after her...
::he stated with an evil grin, his mood as dark and depressed as it had ever been. he purposely gave the horse a rest, so as to allow kit to gain a lead, so that she might not notice if he took a detour, but in the end it didn't matter, when he got to the point where he should turn for the quickest route, he could only stop, unable to bring himself to do it::
Damn women, why must it be so hard?
::he stated to no-one in particular. but then wouldn't be better if she never had to know the torment the dark seekers signified? wouldn't it be better for them both if he went ahead with his plans? or perhaps he was going about this the wrong way, this entire time he had been fighting for his ways, for what he thought should happen, perhaps if he admitted he was wrong... it would never work! he doubted she even cared which way he went with it... on one hand, if he turned demetri over to the Dark seekers, his own safety would indeed be assured, however, if he didn't he might have a shot at some happiness, MIGHT::
so in the end it come down to whether i have the balls to gamble with my future, or wish simply to survive...
::he said sighing, when it was put that way there was no choice... it seemed he would be making a stand. though the irony was lost on him that this statement was in direct conflict with the last thing he had said to leti... Suddenly a wide smile appeared on his face, he suddenly knew exactly how he should go about this, only, he said to himself, he wouldn't do this for kit, no, more to prove to himself that the years hadn't dulled his courage::

:: Kit and Loyalty sped through the forrest with ease, As Loyalty was not actually a horse she exibited unusual Grace and agility. Kit didn't look back she was irritated her mind racing with her thoughts. Men playing the knight in shining armor, how absurd. As if she needed Demetri riding in on his dark horse. Has he forgotten that she was a monster? That things feared her!:: Idiots... :: Kit urged Loyalty to run faster. The guardian obliged and picked up unnatural speed. Loyalty gentle voice spoke softly to her:: ((Do not become over confident kitten...)) |

::Demetri trotted slowly through forest, knowing full well how long it would take him if he maintained this slow pace, but needing to think things through, of course the first thing to do upon return would of course be to talk to Desmond, it would be needed to have at least one person fighting beside him, perhaps he could even coax that old prune Leti... he toyed with the idea that he could ask Kit for help, but figured she wouldn't be too keen on talking to him, let alone fighting along side him...::
i have lived a long life, and this shall by no means be the end of it
::he stated, once again to no-one in particular. suddenly he had a plan, one that relied heavily on Desmond, but he figured that if he explained how such a situation could work to both of they're advantage... indeed this could work out, but it still seemed likely that he wouldn't see freedom for much longer than 12 hours...::
at least then i'll know that she was not right about me acting out of cowardice
::he mused, suddenly he mentally urged Firestorm on, making him run much faster than the horse would have run normally. he was hoping to talk to kit, to at least apologize for his earlier comments, but with loyalty as her mount, he didn't figure this likely, so he decided to plead with the guardian::

:: Normally Loyalty would have ignored Demetri's request but she had concern... Firestorm was one of Kit's favorite mounts, he did not have the strength of the Guardians and so she began to slow and then slowly turned around:: Loyalty what are you doing?... (Demetri is insisting to talk to you...) How is that our problem?.. (Firestorm tires...Demetri is persistent) :: Kit frowned and urged Loyalty to meet Demetri. Loyalty sent ahead:: (( We will meet you, ease up on Firestorm let him rest, She will want you dead if you harm one of her horses...)) |

::Demetri frowned, he had not made the horse do anything, he had simply asked it to go as fast as it could for as long as it could, he would have given up on any pursuit should it have tired the horse too far, yet again he was going to look bad, wonderful. he did indeed slow down, thanking firestorm as he did it, within moments loyalty were in sight, Demetri slowed further, matching their speed::
i only wanted to say sorry for my intended actions, and for my attitude. also thank you for pointing out my cowardice, i no longer intend to save my hide by betraying one who trusts me

:: Kit didn't look at him while he spoke to her she guided loyalty close so that she might pet Firestorm. She inspected him to make sure he hadn't been mistreated. He moved his nose so she could pet him and he looked fine. She smiled, Demetri wasn't harming him after all. She gave a more warm smile seeing Firestorm ok.:: Apology accepted, Please take good care of Firestorm? :: She guided Loyalty close so she could lean over and Kiss Demetri on the cheek.:: Good luck with the boogy man :: With nothing further she and Loyalty once again galloped away leaving him behind with his thoughts:: |
