Oh I so wish I didn't do that google search for cropped ears, I just read some horrific accounts of what people have done to fighting dogs - broke my heart.
Anyway, I did find this from the Australian National Kennel Club
The Australian National Kennel Council and its Member Bodies abhor the practice of cropping of ears of any breed of dog. The act of ear cropping is an offense under the Rules and Regulations of the Australian National Kennel Council and its Member Bodies.
Dogs imported into Australia with cropped ears shall not be permitted to compete in Conformation breed classes but may compete in official Obedience and Field Trials. Such dogs are limited to "For Exhibition Only" at Conformation events.
Any dog with ears that have been cropped in Australia is not allowed to participate in any recognised ANKC activity, which includes Obedience Training This applies to dogs born after 1.1.93. |
