Its been a challenge trying to find a new home for Gripes because MSN groups are closing.
 
They offer migration to 'Multiply' but I dont like the concept there...It is in the style of My Space etc.
 
I think I have found the best one so I'm in the process of navigating my way around to see whats available.
 
Both G2G and KWG will be incorporated into the one site...with the availability of chatrooms too.
 
The site servers are overwhelmed with so many moving their groups over so occasionally the site goes down for maintenance...also I believe they are upgrading the site and fixing some 'bugs' so it may be a little while before it runs smoothly.
 
Anyway...I'm giving it a shot to see how it does..
 
Feel free to join and go into chat...Its hard to judge until I get a few members!

Well...... the end of G2G.......

its so sad to see the end of MSN groups, and im very sad to see G2G HAS been migrated to multiply, even though Liz said she didnt like it......

i also migrated a 'test' group to multiply, and im very glad i havent any of my 'real' groups...

as for yuki....naw.... as most of you will know, i have HUGE problems with that.... more bugs than a sh1t farm!!

Sooo...... unless people would like to join me @ http://chatwhere.proboards.com/ (which is very like yuki - in fact im lead to believe yuki is a clone of proboards - its a VERY sad goodbye from me...... hope to meet up in MSN messenger, or a decent chatroom sometime.......

I sent it there to see what it would look like and show everyone WHY I'm taking the trouble to find a good site and make it as close to MSN groups as I can or at least as easy to navigate as i can!
 
Blame Shaz...she needed hekp so I tought blow it...Ill send g2 as a test so I can tweak it and help Shaz...lol
 
How was I to know they would send emails everywhere...??
 
Yuku is by far the chosen favourite place to go...despite a few bugs..mainly because they have such an influx of thousands of new groups moving to them.
 
Lol...sorry split but you seem to be one of the very few (actually only) person that I know of that has agro like you do trying to post and chat...
 
Have you tried all the things I researched that need to be done to at least eliminate?
 
If you have then there is a help forum...you just send your prob...and then I escalate it and send it to yuku...thats pretty impressive I thought...but first you need to eliminate its the cookies or cache...settings etc etcetc
 
Maybe your security is higher than most...I cant remember the list..
 
I have been keeping an eye on the good and bad of all future homes..and making my choice from that..
 
Each of them have their fors and againsts..but DON'T WORRY
 
Gripes is here to stay!...and NOT in MULTIPLY!

yes I do have tried all you have suggested.... and yes I do have high security - the fact is these days you NEED it, any site that demands I lower it is OFF my visit list.

We have all had Emails telling us you have migrated... the front page of this group tells us you have migrated....

2nd fact yuki HAVE had for a very long time major problems/bugs....Google for them...BUT you do need to go past the 1st few pages, as their own pages come up 1st...

Way to go Yuku.

Oh and one other thing: I noticed that Yuku have renamed my account (and promptly banned it) like some kindergarten child would do if they were having a tantrum. I thought that KickApps were focussing on customer service? Apparently not: it seems like the Yuku staff are still the same bunch of also-ran hackers with the same petty agenda as they always were.

I know its an old page - I just wanted to show its not a new problem caused by MSN groups closing.....

I say again... I ONLY HAVE PROBLEMS with yuki....NO OTHER forums.... the problems are with ALL available browsers - slightly different on each browser - but problems anyway.

I will NOT lower my security to allow yuki's bugs through... there ARE better designed / programmed / managed (at server level - not you liz!) alternatives out there.. and thats where you will find me!

look someone else who had the same problems I have....
'If you are having a problem with Yuku, please post in this thread so I can look into it.

Here are some of the known bugs in Yuku, but please post the things you find anyway:

* not able to stay logged in
* posts not appearing immediately - I've seen this one quite a bit at work when using Internet Explorer
* quick reply double spacing
* editing a post created in quick reply loses all formatting
* pending members not showing up
* pending friends not showing up
* overall slowness
* yuku hall of fame is stuck
* Can't post long posts - 404 error message
* subscriptions being wiped out
* chat unreliable - please delete and recreate chat to fix bugs - this one is chronic
* 401 error message
* Topics not being marked read or becoming unread again

just to clarify the problems i have....

Booting from yuki chat... in firefox each time i send a message... I could lurk all night if i wanted to!


Booting from yuki chat... in IE, as and when it feels like it - also sometimes freezes my whole computer - requires a hard reboot - thats pulling the plug - not good for the life of my hard drive!


Booting from yuki chat... in Google Chrome, every time i try and silence that damn noise each time someone posts!

thats from memory - as you may have noticed ive given up with it!

oh... btw its not my computer - i have the choice of 5 to try, all have the same problem!

nearly forgot....i cant sign into yuki using 'splitpin' anymore... last time I tried it told me my password was wrong (it wasnt)....
so i tried to reset the password.. I was then told I didnt get the answer to the reminder question correct.......

......... now ..... what was my mums maiden name??????

Lol...I know you are trying to make a point Split...and I DO know there are bugs as I have already mentioned many times.
 
I feel for you as I was there when you tried to access chat 99,000 times.
 
Thing is..Yuku has only been out of 'beta' since Feb of this year..
 
They have been quick to respond to me (regardless of the thousands of new groups moving there before they were prepared I'm sure)
 
I am impressed with the support group that is included in the site...
 
You click on 'support' (I think) and post a message which, at that time only group members can see (separate forum)...
 
I assess the problem, asking members to follow the guidelines to eliminate individual pc problems..and if that doesnt work..then I have the ability to 'escalate' so a yuku team member visits our forum support and help you with the problem or adds it as a bug and eliminates it.
 
I find that quite impressive!
Escalate tickets:If you feel that a ticket is a Yuku bug simply click "Escalate" and a Yuku staff member will look into this issue.
 
Mind you...as I have also stated...we are not necesssarily going to stay with yuku...I need to have ease of use and familiarity for ALL gripes members to feel comfortable and yuku doesnt provide the copy/paste function for posts...Thats MAJOR issue as far as I am concerned so I have searched a site that allows that.
 
IN CASE you want to try to fix the problem you are having...add a post to the Gripes support forum (top right of page I think) http://gripes2gripe.yuku.com and I will escalate it ...From what I have seen they respond really quickly..
 
You know I care....lol..I have spent a long time checking this out for you.

aw well... it was good while it lasted....
......
i managed to chat for a while tonight....using chrome.... then i got booted....

after a lot of trying, and rebooting..... i thought id got back in - no such luck - the screen just kept refreshing before i got into chat....

update...... it seems that I did enter the room.... then got booted, re-entered, booted ..... again and again.... I have been told I was flooding the board -but never saw the page load.

so... this time I have given up for keeps... thanks for trying Liz....

I migrated to Multiply but wont be using it for members...so dont worry...I only 'moved it there so I could see what it looked like...(although I knew beforehand!)
 
I am working on a site that will have all the old pages of Gripes as you know them and with lots of new features too...
 
What caught my eye is that there is a special feature for the visually impaired ..but not sure what its like yet...
 
Ohh...I think it supports voice thngy...A voice will tell you whats in each post...Not sure how it works though...but I'm thinking of you...
