My personal thoughts for the record... (Just my opinion and therefore not sourced) I believe Maddie died ( the reason...a separate issue) the night of May 2 or early morning May 3. - From what I understand, Madeleine did not go to the creche the morning of the 3rd.
- The maid was not allowed entrance the morning of 3rd to clean.
- Scent on Kates jeans (hopefully from a last cuddle) so maybe during 'colder' hours
They spent the day cleaning and working out the plan - Gerry feigned an achilles heel to account for not being at tennis
- the sniffer dogs detected scent over towards the supermarket..(maybe someones shoe had come in contact with the scent?)
- Sniffer dogs detected scent in nearby friends apartment....Maddies body moved..(in tennis bag?)
The McCanns got together on 3rd with the tapas 7 to figure out a plan - None of the tapas went on the search leading me to believe they knew it was not worthwhile and therefore knew
- Diane Webster did not rush away from the table..maybe she knew
They arranged to go to the tapas as normal and act out their plan - At this point they were not concerned about the 'checks' they had to get the 'abduction' theory in place
- Jane Tanner was not acknowledged as 'arriving' at the tapas, but I don't believe the 'plan' included seeing 'bundleman' or that would have been one of the first things to have been pointed out.
- Gerry maybe left to 'jemmy' the shutters but was interrupted by 'Jes'
- Gerry arrived back 9.25pm and asked ROB to fix the shutters and he left 5 minutes later 9.30pm (with?)
- They were unaware that the shutters were impossible to jemmy (as told by MW) and hence the 14 text messages back and forth between ROB and Gerry.
- Finally ROB returned at 9.55pm...unable to complete the 'set up' of the shutters.
- Kates 'cue' was to leave when ROB returned...but they had failed to tell her the shutters were not jemmied.
- She arrived at the apartment and, without checking, claimed abduction because the shutters were jemmied.
- Once it was realised they were not touched they changed their 'locked door' story to 'unlocked' to allow the possibility of an abductor to enter.
I believe that they consider all the accusation of 'neglect (for that night) as a trade off for what really happened. - They seem to find it impossible to feel guilt for leaving the children alone that night, resulting in Maddie's disappearance...reason is...Maddie was already dead...they didnt leave their children that night for any length of time...and nothing happened because of it...and they can't bring themselves to be accused of something they are NOT responsible for (causing Maddies abduction)
It was imperative to tell the world of the abduction before too many questions were asked...hence, when Kate has screwed up her lines and mentioned about the jemmied shutters (that werent)...Sky news became more important than the PJ...and they had cleaned up...they didnt need time to sort that out.,...but they DID need time to reassess how they would deal with the screw up....so it was a while before they called the PJ.. They had to synchronise their story... |

Determined to find the truth | | | | http://dn.sapo.pt/2007/05/28/socieda...jador_bri.htmlCopied from: http://helpmadeleine.proboards79.com... 86581&page=1 post #12 Link of the latest from Mariajosehttp://tinyurl.com/2qnsjwBriefly and the best I can as its been translated: One of the computers taken from Robert Murat's house has references to an English citizen, the owner of a yacht in the marina of Lagos. The theory they are following is that Madeleine was led to the boat in the marina of lagos, this is being seen as the most reasonable lead by the PJ. The abductor could then have gone to another country, one named is morocco and this is strengthened by a sighting of a girl with a man at the marina on the same night. The English man is supposed to have had the boat for a number of years and lives on it, but also travels to other countries. When the owner of a boat wishes to leave the marina they only have to give the time they want to leave and how many people are leaving, nobody goes on the boat to check the identity of the occupants. The recent description of a man that police are looking to speak to is then given. I'm not quite sure of the next part (something about Interpol) but it then goes on to say that with nothing concrete the PJ continue to see Marraquexe, in Morocco as being the strongest lead, this is fuelled by a sighting of a girl in a petrol station asking for her mum.

beaky All my own opinion so no need for anyone to threaten me with suing ok.
They were called back from Chaplins on the 1st when Mrs. Fenn heard the child/children crying for over an hour. They were not a bit impressed when they were requested by MW to ensure the children were looked after at night. One early report I read stated Gerry said ‘we know best how to care for our children?when offered babysitting for subsequent nights. End of story as far as they were concerned they had put the staff in their place. Also they would not have liked that they were singled out by their children’s behavior as there don’t seem to be any accounts of the other Tapas couples or their children brought to the attention of the staff. Don’t forget that some of the Tapas7 with their children had been abroad together before (Greece) staying in MW and this babysitting system worked beautifully for them. (Well they didn’t lose anyone). The McCann’s and their children are the newbies on this holiday and if you believe any of BOD’s novella Gerry was the life and soul of the party and from what I have seem of him over the past 11 months strikes me as a person who would absolutely hate to be chastised especially if it was publicly and more to the point if it was over the control that he and Kate had/or not over their children. Worse still would be an implication of negligence by staff.
With the newest leak they have told us that Madeleine and Sean were crying on the 2nd. We didn’t know this for sure before but now it is a fact (albeit according to McCann’s). I believe as I have for ages that there is always some truth in what they say, just a little bit mind you but enough for them to think the story is plausible and enough (in their minds) to counter anything any other witness might have seen or heard that they didn’t know about at the time. I believe the truth in this statement is that Madeleine was crying, Sean was not, he and Amelie were sedated and slept through the night. Madeleine being older and bigger the sedation wore off quicker.
They sedated all three children the night of the 2nd so they could go out without the hassle. Locked them all in and didn’t bother to check until they left Tapas to go to Chaplins. Went in through the patio doors had a quick look, kids all asleep, left by the front door. This disturbed Madeleine and she woke, groggy and tried to look for them, locked in she couldn’t do anything so got into their bed to wait for them to come back. They arrived home drunk and found Madeleine in their bed crying asking why did you not come and one of them lost the rag. What did they have to do to keep this child quiet? No one else’s child caused problems. Shook or struck her in anger so badly she died. I believe that if there is any truth to the curtains being washed, it was the ones in their bedroom.
They are then horror stricken what do you do in the middle of the night whilst drunk with your 3 year old daughter dead with obvious signs of violence and sedation on post mortem if you call in the authorities. They make plans to save themselves and keep their remaining children. They put in motion a plan that if sober they wouldn’t have dreamt of. They decide to hide her body and cry abduction. They had already been in PDL for 4 and half days. Kids had been in the crèche all day everyday. They had been free to jog, play tennis, roam around. Maybe they had seen somewhere they could put her body. Maybe it seemed safe to them at the time in their panic that if they cried abduction and Madeleine was found dead it would be the abductors fault. They start a major clean up. By morning they are sober and in shock. They tell everyone the next day they are having a family day and need one of the hire cars. The twins so young are told Madeleine is with her friends and off they go with the corpse in the tennis bag in the boot of the car. They bury her in the earth or at sea and get back to PDL in the late afternoon in time for Gerry to have his tennis lesson and Kate to finish cleaning and get the twins ready for bed. They have to hold it all together just until dark so they can cry abduction.
No one else knows anything which is why the timeline is off whack. JT would never have pretended to see an abductor at the same time as Gerry was stood in the street if she was in on it and Gerry never once corroborated what she said. The last photo with the timeline changed from 1.29 to 2.29 could well have been because none of the other tapas were near the pool at that time being the children were due back in Crèche so they could well have said they just arrived back from their morning out. Why would anyone disbelieve them? Maybe Gerry had Kate on tranquilizers during the day to keep her going while he sorted everything out. They could both, once the alarm was raised be hysterical it would be only normal wouldn’t it except they both became hysterical at the very minute they supposedly found Madeleine missing which wasn’t normal at all. Most people would just then be in shock and unbelieving of what they were seeing and out searching everywhere. It would take in my mind at least an hour to totally believe the child was really gone and not just hiding or in someone else’s apartment. Gerry roaring like a bull and Kate knowing immediately that Madeleine had been taken and phoning family to insist it was an abduction was reportedly very shortly after the alarm was raised.
The next four days they were grief stricken and then something happened (wish I knew what) and then I think they believed they were in the clear. Gerry had his vision and they started the fund and behaving like Slebs even before the 12th Madeleine’s fourth birthday and just over a week since she went missing but by then they were well on the way to becoming ‘The Fighting McCann’s? I don’t for one minute think once they had completed the hard part and got to the alarm and that all went smoothly that they thought they would ever be disbelieved.
Sorry this is so long. It is just my take on what I believe could have happened if it happened on the 2nd. |

English experts are helping with this. RM's and SM's phones were tracked but aparently nothing important was discovered. SM was not in the area at the alleged time of the abduction. The PJ has investigated the boats that went through the algarve ports and marinas at the time of the abduction. They even came up with a list of possible suspects and contacted severel sailors. Special attention was given to the Marina of Lagos, closest to Praia da Luz. All boats that left the marina in the days after the abduction were tracked and investigated. Nothing suspicious was discovered. PJ also talked to sailors that spend months in the area, but no one saw anything suspicious. The Lagos Marina is constantly surveilled by a security company. No boats can sail during the night, as the access is closed.

HiDeHo MAR 13th08 May I preface that although this 'story' is pure speculation, it is arrived at using details and circumstances that have come to my attention that may or may not be proven to be true.
I have put my thoughts and theories into a story form...I would welcome any input on any portion of this story that would be impossible to have happened and remind you it is only my opinion and does not necessarily represent the truth about Maddie's disappearance....
Basically it is a compilation of what I have already posted about what I believe may have happened.
Tuesday night...K & G arrive home to children crying...they learn that MrsFenn from the apartment above was concerned and advised MW...who in turn had contacted them to return back to the apartment.
Wednesday night, they once again left the children alone...Mrs Fenn heard someone crying 'daddy, daddy daddy...' (or Maddie, Maddie Maddie)
Kate returned back to the apartment to find Maddie crying and causing a disturbance...Mrs Fenn heard loud shouting and this may have been Kate getting abnormally angry and possibly accidentally causing Maddies death. Maybe she was resentful that Gerry hadn't taken the time to watch the kids...
She was so horrified at what had happened, she was calling her name..'Maddie, Maddie, Maddie' trying to rouse her from her stillness.
Gerry arrived home and after a while everything went quiet....
G & K had to decide what to do....
Was it worth taking a chance calling the police?...If Maddie had died for any other reason than the result of violence or abuse then that may have been an option...but there were obvious signs to point to Kate being guilty of a moment of anger and they couldn't risk calling the police and Kate being arrested.
They called their best friends in the next apartment ..ROB and JT....they needed to unload the enormity of what had happened and share it with someone they trusted......Four heads were better than two...They needed ideas what to do in these circumstances...
The decision was made that it was too risky to bring in the police...not only would Kate be arrested but they would all be up for scrutiny and possible charges of negligence.
The next thing was what to do with Maddy's body...they certainly couldnt leave her in the apartment because of the twins.
They laid her under the sofa out of sight until they decided what to do.
How were they going to explain her death to everyone else at home? What were they going to tell the rest of the tapas 7?
The best they could come up with was to fake an abduction....in the meantime they would have to tell the rest of the T7 that she had died accidentally and it was in everyones best interest to stick with a story, so, although Gerry and Kate would have to stay in PdL the rest could leave and get home safely.
The next morning they refused the cleaners (for obvious reasons) and proceeded to prepare the apartment for an abduction...the chosen time was to be during their evening meal at the tapas.
Firstly they needed to clean the apartment and find a suitable place for Maddie.
Gerry's tennis bag would be the only suitable way of hiding her and moving her.
Kate sat down with Maddies lifeless body on her lap and gave her a last hug goodbye...she wasn't thinking about the cadaver scent that was now on her jeans and on her hands...which she would transfer to the keychain and her bible...and of course..cuddlecat...
She wrapped her in her favourite pink blanket that she always slept with...and they placed her in Gerry's tennis bag...
Gerry cleaned some blood behind the couch, not realising that the scent had attached itself to his shoe.
The bag containing Maddies body was taken next door to ROB and JT's apartment, out of the way of the twins once they were up in the morning running around, and left there until they could decide what to do.
Gerry went to the supermarket to pick up some cleaning materials and a bottle of New Zealand wine...they needed something to help get them through this awful situation...
On his way to the supermarket he, unknowingly, left the scent from his shoe, which would later be picked up by the sniffer dogs brought in by the PJ the following day.
He took a walk down to the beach to see if there was a suitable, temporary burial place for Maddie.
Again he left the scent from his shoes, picked up by the dogs the following day.
During the day they arranged the plan...possibly telling the rest of the tapas about maddies accidental death...Feigning an achilles heel would explain not going to play tennis, and of course would mean he wouldn't have to explain the disappearing tennis bag.....cleaning the apartment.
At some point during the day they took Maddie to a temporary resting place.
The plan for the evening was to act as normal and meet up with the rest of the tapas 9.
They would 'jemmy' the shutters to indicate it was an abduction, but they wouldn't do that until the twins were sound asleep...Gerry would come back later during the dinner.
They locked the door.
Everyone arrived at the tapas...JT maybe stayed in one of the apartments to act as a lookout while Gerry fixed the shutters.....maybe she didn't want to leave her children alone....
Once Gerry and Kate arrived at the tapas, Gerry gave everyone the 'heads up' about what was going to be happening and after 10 mins he returned to the apartment to fix the shutters...by this time the twins should have been deeply asleep (sedatives?)
He met Jes Wilkins on the way....They talked about daughters, fathers, families. Gerry was relaxed and friendly. They discussed the babysitting dilemmas at the resort and Gerry said that he and Kate would have stayed in too, if they had not been on holiday in a group.* Whether Gerry tried the shutters or not...he arrived back at the tapas bar at 9.25pm and asked ROB to go try and 'jemmy' the shutters as he had been held up in conversation with Jes Wilkins.
5 mins later at 9.30pm ROB left the bar to go to Apartment 5A to make sure the shutters were jemmied so that the abduction theory could be put into place.
It wasn't working...the shutters were not the kind that could be jemmied from the outside (as confirmed later by MW)...ROB and Gerry shared several text messages back and forth trying to think what to do.
Kate was back at the tapas, waiting for her cue...
She went over and over in her head that it was going to be about an abduction...She was to go back to the apartment and the shutters would be jemmied so they could blame it on abduction....Gerry was on his phone and chatting with the quiz lady...but Kate knew her cue was to leave once ROB had returned.
ROB returned at 9.55pm and Kate immediately left...she had to get back to the apartment as soon as possible before anything went wrong with the plan or someone noticed the jemmied shutters...
She had to have been scared that it would all go wrong and they would be found out but Gerry had assured her that as long as she remembered it was an abduction then everything would be fine...It kept going through her head...abduction...
She arrived back at the apartment and immediately cried out about the abduction...'They've taken her!..they've taken her' she screamed as she ran back to the tapas to tell everyone...That comment will make sure people know its an abduction....She told everyone that she knew it was an abduction because the shutters were jemmied...They weren't...Gerry had not had the chance to tell her that before she left.....
It was pandemonium everywhere....Everyone gathered together to help look for little Maddie...The tapas 7 knew there was no point looking...in fact DW was not as eager as others to be drawn into the lie and hesitated before finally leaving the bar.
Gerry had to make sure everyone got their story straight...They spent time in the apartment going through everything
Phone calls to the family so that everyone 'knew' what happened and most importantly a call to Sky news at 10.10pm...once they had the story as abduction it would stop anyone questioning the truth.
Mrs Fenn offered to call the police but it was too soon...they needed more time to et everything in place....
Finally at 10.40pm the police were called....
At some pont the 'jemmied' shutters story was changed...They decided that they would have to admit to leaving the door unlocked...even though they had secured it when they left...there is no way they would leave the kids and their belongings open to the possibility of someone stealing anything...
They would just have to live with the accusations of negligence and funny looks when they used the excuse of leaving the door open in case of a possible fire...
It was better than telling the truth.... Cuddlecat was used too.....Kate mentioned it had been removed and put on a shelf...that would indicate a stranger in the room...they would suggest it was Maddies favourite thing to sleep with....and later...because JT was not at the tapas she could mention about seeing a stranger carrying what could have been Maddie...She had seen people carrying their children back from the creche at night. so she would just describe that.....Keeping it generic as they didn't want to limit the possibility of who may become the 'fall guy'...
(to be cont.....)

There is a dispute as to whether May 2nd or May 3rd is the time something happened to Maddie. If Maddie died...maybe something happened on the 2nd but she didn't die immediately... Maybe she died at some point during the day of May 3rd but her body could not be removed until after dark... Was it dark in PdL around 9.05 when Gerry left the table (supposedly) Was it dark at 9.30 when ROB left the table? Is this why the PJ are focusing on that night regardless of so many details indicating May 2? Diane Webster not immediately leaving the table is the most 'telling ' point to me. I cannot believe any one of the tapas 7 remaining at the table and not joining in the turmoil the very second it was 'discovered' unless there was another 'reason'. |
