Here is something interesting from the Sunday Herald. It doesn't refer specifically to Clarence Mitchell, but I think many of us will see his relevance! It is a review of a recently published book by Nick Davies.
http://www.sundayherald.com/arts/arts/d ... _hound.php "Davies asked researchers from Cardiff University's journalism department to look at what appeared over two weeks in the pages of The Times, The Guardian, the Independent, The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail. They found that 60% of stories consisted either wholly or mainly of wire copy and/or PR material. A mere 12% of stories were generated by reporters themselves. The Times proved to be the highest users of prefabricated copy, with 69%."
