The revelation God gave to Paul was of one church comprised of Jews and Gentiles. That is the church that started at Jerusalem and continues to this day.
The "church in the wilderness" was the nation of Israel and hardly compares at all to the church which is the Body of Christ.
A Rolls-Royce and a Volkswagen bug are both cars but nothing interchanges.
