Ingredients

Pasta is an excellent choice as it is very low in potassium.
Choose cream based sauces in preference to tomato based sauces if possible.
If choosing tomato based sauces, serve less sauce and more pasta. Use canned tomato or bottled pasta sauce in preference to tomato paste.
Minced meat or chicken can be fried in oil and added to sauce if desired.
Suitable vegetables can also be added, e.g. onion, capsicum, celery, silverbeet, mushrooms, carrots. Avoid English spinach
Flavour with garlic, herbs and spices in place of added salt.
Sprinkle lightly with parmesan cheese if desiredRecommended by loriS, 6/21/2001.
