A LUNCH DATE WITH AN OLD FRIEND.

Friday, December 26th seemed to roll around rather quickly. It was only twenty-four hours ago that the entire world was celebrating Christmas with close family and friends. And even that seemed like an eternity ago. It would be another three hundred and sixty-five days until Christmas would be back around again, so many people in the world, especially those parents with small kids in the Barbie Doll, XBox360 stage that seemed to ask for more and more expensive things each year. There was just no satisfying kids these days. It was also roughly twenty-eight hours after Jeanette and one of her closest friends, someone she consider like a brother, asked her to lunch at Olive Garden. This one was tucked in the Hollywood Hills in California, where they'd both been stationed to do some promotional and charity work for the next couple of days to ring in the Christmas season and New Year. Jeanette and Chris had, obviously, lost contact with each other over the last few months, what with her going MIA on the company and then coming back in love, engaged and a newly crowned champion and him getting divorced and remarried in less then three months. It seemed as if it had been an eternity since they'd talked...just the two of them, and Chris really needed a friend right now. His friend, his very best friend in Jeanette. It was at the company Christmas party thrown by  Kaylee Adams and Trish Stratus-Copes only a few days earlier, that Jeanette and Chris actually talked some. The first time in what seemed like forever. He seemed down in the dumps about something, no one really knew what was bothering him. Of course, everyone knew he wasn't exactly a Christmas person...more of a Bahumbug person. She managed to make his night a little brighter, with corny and quirky jokes that made him life because of their "cuteness" as he would sometimes put it. It was also at this same Christmas party that he extended an invitation to have a lunch date together. Sure, he was married and with a child on the way, and she was engaged -- and yes, to two totally different people -- but still, they were close enough friends to feel comfortable enough to go on a "lunch date" together without the expectations of "getting some" afterwards. She agreed to it, of course she started to wonder how this would happen with them living in two totally different states on different parts of the country. Of course, that's also when Trish and Kaylee came to the World Heavyweight and Women's Champion, informing them of some charity work they wanted them to do. Of course, Chris wasn't all too big on doing charity work, depending on what it was exactly. Jeanette, on the other hand, loved to do charity work, so she immediately jumepd at the chance to. Chris, for whatever reason, looked at his female best friend and the gleam in her eye when she said yes -- along with doing quite a bit of promotional work as well -- and agreed to it. Was there a ache in the pit of his stomach? Yeah. That was from not listening to his brain tell him 'don't do it, man, you could sleep in on those days' but, again, for whatever reason, he agreed. Once Kaylee and Trish departed from the duo, the two exchanged ideas on how they could get it done. Admist the excitement she had about going to LA...especially the amount of off-time she'd have to do wedding planning and details and get some shopping and rest and relaxation done, she couldn't wait for the chance to get back to California, Chris managed to squeak out a "Would you like to have lunch with me on Friday" that seemed to kind of catch Jeanette off guard. The way he asked it, almost seemed like it was a date, persay, but it wasn't. At least not in her eyes. After all, she was an engaged woman, he was a married man and she'd never, ever betray Kevin's trust like that, or their relationship. She loved him and he loved her -- as did Chris and Kia towards one another. Or so she thought, anyway. She agreed, afterall, he was one of her oldest and dearest friends, but still...an uneasy feeling filled the pit of her stomach for whatever reason. Maybe it was just the awkwardness of the way he asked. Soon after, he bailed on the party and headed back to the hotel. He was none too safe to drive on his own, and she went after him. She loaded him into a cab and instructed the driver on where, exactly, to take him. Sure, she wasn't his wife but she felt obligated to keep him safe. He was her friend, after all. As the cab drove out of sight, she began to wonder what was going on with him, why he suddenly began to act so weirdly around her. She was so perplexed...especially the fact that he made it almost abunduntly clear, one night while they were talking on the phone, that he wasn't too keen on attending her wedding to Kevin. She never really knew why, but McKenzie didn't prove of this relationship...could be because of the heartbreak she felt from Justin Kage, could be because he didn't think Kevin was good enough for her. Then again, it could be something far more perplexed and complicated then that. Who really knew.

After a rough airplane flight from where they were to where they needed to be, Jeanette and Chris met up at LA Airport in California. The two walked down a hallowed hall, bags in tote, as they got into the first rental car they found and headed to their hotel. It wasn't too weird that their rooms were right next door to each other, after all, they were travel companions for work. Once loaded in her room, her bags unpacked and her things stored away in safe places, she disrobed and hoped in the shower to clean off the jetlag and air plane smell from her petite little frame. She was in their no more then ten minutes, when her cell phone started to sound off a familiar tune. It was Prima J's version of No One by Alicia Keys...one they named Nadie. On the caller ID the name read across was Keviebaby. Kevin was obviously calling to talk to her, make sure she was okay and landed safe and sound in LA. He missed her, they hadn't had a chance to really talk since the day before, she left so early in the morning. Sure, he accompanied her to the airport that morning where they said a proper goodbye, but that didn't mean he still didn't miss her. Eventually, it went directly into voicemail and not long after that, a second call came in. This time, the tune that filled the air from her Apple iPhone was another song that Jeanette liked a lot, Swing by Savage. This time, the caller ID read Chrissy, which would be Chris McKenzie, her travel partner and friend. For whatever reason, he was calling her and soon, his call went to voicemail too. Twenty additional minutes would pass and finally, the bathroom door swung open. Strutting out, lathering up some lotion was the lovely Jeanette. Her flamming red hair was pulled back in a towel, wrapped on top of her head and she had a second white towel wrapped quite snug-like around her body, covering most of it. All but her upper chest area, her legs and her arms. She began to rub the lotion along her arms, paying special attention to her elbows and hands, and ran some over her face and chest area that was uncovered by the towel. The lotion made her skin look nice and shiny, satin-smooth and smelt like a coacoa butter, vanilla scent. It was Bath and Body Works products that she used, and they had this richness about their products that did wonders for making skin look quite nice. Flinging her head over, she unwrapped the towel on her head and began to damp-dry her hair with it. She ran the towel over various strands of her long, red hair some, getting all the access water and separating some of it so that it didn't look like a total mess. Flipping her head back up to a regular, erect position, she smiled looking in the mirror. "I wonder what would happen if I actually went out like this" she said, laughing to herself. Her phone beeped twice, which caught her attention. As she sat on the edge of the bed, she pulled up her phone and touched the screen, making it light up. That's when she noticed the two missed calls and two new voicemails added to her phone's memory. She listened to the voicemails, Kevin's first and smiled sweetly. "Aww, I miss you too hunny" she mumbled under her breath. Pushing the usual 7 button, she deleted the message and listened to the second, from Chris. Arching an eyebrow some, his basically said that he was calling to see if everything was okay and if she wanted to have lunch at Olive Garden. She soon deleted that message and before even having a chance to call him back, there was a knock at her room door. Dropping her phone on the bed, she walked to the door and looked out, through the peephole. She soon opened the door, mainly because it was only Chris and not some weird guy that would stare at a hot broad in a towel with somewhat damp skin and hair.

"Hey, I was just about to call you" she said, with a smile as she let him in. "Sorry, I didn't know you were in the shower. I would've waited to come over if I did...I can go, if you want" he said, walking back towards the door. "It's no biggie, I mean, it's not like your some virgin. You've seen women naked before and I've seen men naked before. Besides...I'm in a towel and trust me, this baby ain't goin' no where" she said, in a joking manner as she sat on the edge of the bed again. Propping her leg against one of the chairs...one of the two that Chris was sitting in, she put some more lotion on her hands and lathered it up. She began to put lotion on her legs, the right first and then the left, never really taking her eyes off them. Chris tried not to look but, really...he's only a man and she is a beautiful girl in nothing more then a towel. It was probably one of the first times he really looked at her in a light much different thten strictly a friend. Well, as far as she knew anyway. She looked up at Chris, just as he turned his head to look at the tv that was on. It was on E and she was watching reruns of "Girls Next Door" with Holly, Bridget and Kendra. She happened to like that show. Standing up, she looked at Chris and laughed "It's really kind of addicting, ya know. Especially when you meet those girls and realize how nice and sweet they are off cameras. Especially Bridget, she is such a sweetheart and has such a good heart with big dreams that take her far beyond Playboy and being just another hot blonde with big boobs" she said, trying to strike up conversation. "I bet" he said, in a low toned voice as he looked from the tv back to Jeanette, who now had her back turned to him. He stood up and, she turned around and they literally almost ran into each other with that sudden action. "Sorry" she said, with a laugh. "You look great, Jeanie" he said, trying to avoid any sort of weird silence between them. She arched an eyebrow and looked at him "Umm Chris...I'm in a towel and my hair is a mess. Great? Really?" she said, trying not to laugh. "Oh...well yeah.." he said, shrugging as he sat back down. "Is something wrong, Chris? You don't seem like yourself today. Actually, you haven't seemed like yourself for a while now. What's going on?" she asked, as she took one of her bags into the bathroom with her. Closing the door, she left it open just a smidge to hear him talk, but not enough for him to see in as she changed.

Closing the door, she left it open just a smidge to hear him talk, but not enough for him to see in as she changed.

"I'm fine" he said, in a low tone as he starred blankly at the bed that she'd just been sitting on. Soon enough she re-emerged from behind the bathroom door wearing a pair of off white, almost khaki colored "Marisa Fit" wide leg pants from Victoria's Secret. That's where she got a majority of her clothes. The pants had two low rising pockets resting on the sides of her hips, and the pants themselves were somewhat low-rising as well, and hugged the lower portion of her body nicely. The hem on the pants was perfect, as they weren't too long for her, but not too short either. There were no socks covering her feet, but a really pretty, light purple nail polish on her toe nails. Sitting on the bed, she rummaged through her back, her hair still somewhat damp as she was in search of something. And yes, people she was top covered. She wore a black lace form-fitting, push-up bra to cover up the twins, but still tried to find the shirt she wanted to wear. Did she feel uncomfortable? Not really...mainly because -- again, she saw Chris as a friend and not some freak perv that would spend his time starring at her and oogling her goodies. Finally, she found the top she was searching for. It was a thin, dusty rose colored tie-front babydoll tee. It had a bow in the center of the shirt, just under the breast area that tied and going up from the bow was a set of 4 buttons. It had elbow-length sleeves and seemed to fit the attire quite nicely. Sliding the shirt over her body, she scooped up her damp her and let it fall over her shoulders again. She left the top two buttons undone, but still managed to look classy and covered up, despite the fact that those buttons toyed real closely to her chest. She managed to squeeze on some body spray and deodorant under the shirt -- can't have a stinky women's champion, ya know -- and looked at Chris letting out a light laugh. "What's wrong with you? You're like starring into space or something" she said, in a gentle tone. She sat at the edge of the bed and slid on her Colin Stuart, round-toe stiletto boots. The heel was about 4 inches high and the boots zipped up on the side. She seemed to know a thing or two about dressing in style, looking cute and getting everything to match nicely. Weirdest thing about it was, she just got this ensemble from Victoria's Secret before leaving Houston for L.A. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she gently ran her brush through her neat, healthy hair before heading back to the bathroom, blow drying and straightening it. And, much like before, she re-emerged from the bathroom some, twenty minutes -- or so -- later, her hair was brushed and dried, completely straightened and her make up was on and she looked amazing. Chris rose to his feet looking at her, with some what of a cocked, awkward smile. "Like I said, Jeanie, you look great" he said, heading towards the door. She grabbed her Tan and white Coach hobo handbag and followed Chris to the door, dropping her iPhone inside. The two walked out of the room for the elevator, heading directly towards the Olive Garden...after an hour or so of awkward conversation and weird looking smiles and facial expressions. Once on the elevator, Chris pushed for the lobby level floor and soon enough, they were there. The doormen opened the door for them and already, the valet had pulled the onyx black, GMC Denali up to the front where Chris and Jeanette were waiting. Leaving the door open for Chris, the doormen opened the passenger's side door for Jeanette, helping her in. As soon as she was in, he closed the door, and so did Chris. Buckling their seat belts, they were soon off to Melrose -- the Hollywood Hills for lunch at Olive Garden.

"Are things okay between you and Kia? I mean, I know you're not much of a Christmas person but seriously man, you seem like you are more down in the dumps and gloomy then normal...what's wrong? You're really starting to worry me, Chris..." she said, as she went to sit on the bed. She began to rummage through her bag, her hair still somewhat damp as she was in search of something. "Things are fine, I guess. She's still highly upset about that match and would much rather me be at home with her then with this company. And me myself, I am starting to wonder my own worth in this damn company. I mean, it's not like anyone appreciates the hardwork and passion I put into this company, all of me that I leave out there in the ring. To have guys like Deacon Havok and Adam Michaels waltz in and get handed championship title shots and chances for contenderships without even a "welcome back" match or anything...all because their screwing the boss -- or, bosses -- it irritates me. Ya know Jeanie? Like, why the hell do I even try anymore" he said, letting out a frustrated sigh. She could tell he was more frustrated and angry then he was letting on, he just didn't want to worry or burden her with all of his problems. "I do, Chris. I appreciate everything you do and respect it. I may not always agree with some of the tactics you use, like the way you went about handling the divorce from Kaylee but, you're a grown man and you can do as you wish. But still, I respect everything you do. And despite those guys and whatever means they are using to get back into the title hunt, you are the champion -- not them. In the end, it'll come down to them facing you for that belt, not how fast -- or who knocks up their wife or girlfriend before the other. It's a race to see who the better champion is and you won that belt in July and managed to hold on to it for this long for a reason, Chris. Because you earned it and because you deserve it. Not because you used some silly means to get it. Don't stoop to anyone else's level..Besides, you know damn well that Chris McKenzie never lets anyone else's thoughts of him bring him down" she said, with a light laugh. He let out a chuckle or two, but really nothing more then that. "Is anything else wrong with you? You're like starring into space or something. Are you sure you're okay?" she asked, in a gentle tone.

LUNCH AT OLIVE GARDEN.
MAIN INFLUENCE: Just a random roleplay; a chance for McKenzie and Jeanette to "catch up".
PURPOSE: A "lunch date" for Jeanette and Chris. They have tons to catch up on, and very little time to do it in.
Next Match: No match set, yet.
