Are you sufficiently accurate with a shotgun to use it for home defense or do you shoot and pray?

With 'Nonie' and her short barrel, then yes. With her long barrel? No, as it would be too unweildly and cumbersome in my small apartment.

I have enough confidence in my accuracy to be able to bring the shotgun to hip level and hit what I wanted within a 10 yard space.  But, a shotgun IS unweildly for home defense and would not be my first choice of weapon.

I dont own a shotgun anymore. Im not saying they dont make good defense weapons, I just prefer my carbine or pistol.

I like my pistol better and know I could hit an intruder with ease but I'm afraid I would not be as good with a shotgun.  I have too much female clutter to aim without bumping into something.

Personally I believe I'd be much more confident with a shotgun. That's always been my weapon of choice, anyhow though.
