Parn-Petch is a very nice young dog! Very good front shoulder angulation! Rear angulation a bit more moderate, but in balance with the front. Rear leg lenght slightly too long. Top line very good. Under line could use a bit more tuck up as I understand the breed standard. From the side, the head profile looks good, but I think perhaps Parn-Petch has a long muzzle like his sister Urai. Can you post frontal photos? The only thing that bothers me is the neck, which, if you see the blue line in my illustration, could be a "ewe neck", something I see in the TRD breed. Here is an illustration of a "ewe neck" from Pat Hastings book, "Tricks of the Trade". I like to see more strength in the neck, but this is a young puppy and time could add strength. 6 months is a major growing period, so wait and see. I'd llike to see you post photos of Parn-Petch when he is 12 to 18 months old. Also, make sure he can get plenty of excercise within reason for a 6 month old puppy. They need to stretch often in short periods of all out running. Puppies should not be given prolonged excercise, like long periods of biking or jogging until after they are 1 year. Regards, Ann |

Hi BIS, Parn petch is overall a great little pup. His strong points being his front angles, topline and tail set. However, at first glance, I am to bothered by his neck placement on the shoulder. It interrupts the flow of his topline. His neck is placed to far forward on the shoulder, and I would like to see a much better blend to the topline.I do not see this correcting, but he is still in development,so anything is possible. I like his head piece, and feel it is better than his sister urai, howver,I feel Urai is more structurally sound. he has a great compact build and biody length. Overall he looks very balanced. Currently, i think he may have too much forechest, but this may be effected from his shoulder and neck placement. His rear angles are good, but I would like to see his hock vertical to the ground. He seems to be "stretched " right now, so this can effect his rear appearcne. His croup is excellent. I like his head shape, but feel his muzzle can be straiter on the bridge. I would also like his tail to be carrieda little better, but it is good as it is seen currently. it could be straiter and more forward. His color and coat is excellent best of luck with him James |

sorry, one more thing. I too feel he can have a better tuck up in underline, hwowver he is young with a compact build and this can effect the overall appearcne of it. I would expect some improvement as he grows in this. This is effected by his short loin. James |

Nice pup. Would like better picture of head. Looks like he has a bad neck. In Sweden we call it "Elk neck", I just learnt it is called "Ewe neck" in English. Topline is very good, and so is the tail and shoulders. Prefer a bit more tuck up. Good angulations front and back. Good lenght of body.
Kind regards/Susanne Petersson |

Hi to everyone, I am new to the group and also new to the breed. My name is Bronwyn. I bred Dobermanns for the ring in my home country, South Africa, for many years, but do not have any Dobes at the moment. I was so very impressed with these stunning rare dogs that I rediscovered on the net, that my Dobe screensaver is now TRD's in stead! I have been deeply researching them, and I am planning to buy a puppy, as soon as I have enough information, to import to my country (Israel where I live) where they are not found yet. I am really keen to ensure that our first foundation is of absolute quality to ensure that the breed is established here from a strong base. I need any and all guidance I can get, and my first question pertains to Parn-Petch - I see baldness on his rearhock, and scarring on his front shoulder. I have read that the TRD's (especially velvet coats) tend to show scrapes and scars easier. Is that the case here? Is it an issue? What recommendations can you as owners/breeders give as to choice of coat and color? What is the status on occurence of skin problems in the breed, and does it tend to follow coat type or bloodline? (BTW - fawn and blue are both related to skin problems in certain bloodlines when it comes to Dobes). If everyone could also give me insight into breeders to go for or avoid, and recommendations in terms of acquiring a pup. I am utterly passionate about preservation and positive development of purebreds, especially those like the TRD where rare and beautiful genes are preserved. The TRD is in a class of its own here, having such diversity, yet such absolute distinctive features. Could you also tell me more about Parn-Petch's pedigree? Oh, and could someone post a pic of his sister Urai? I have so many questions, but for now I'm sure I'll get lots of valuable info to gobble up, then I'll post again. Warm wishes, Bronwyn (I hope I posted in the right place...) |
