A not so happy goanna, pushing the 1.5 metre mark. he/she was hissing in contempt of us putting up our cam net.
Australia hosts some of the worlds most nasty of the nastiest, but this beast is non poisonus, but has a set of claws which match any eagle or owl.
Taken at Singleton, north of Sydney, a few years back.
All over the bush there is an abundance of snakes, spiders, centipedes, scorpions, plus tonnes of creepie crawlies too numerous to mention, with the exception of the bull ant, which is a demon looking creature with huge jaws and stings like a wasp. They are ferocious for their 3cm size, and will stand their ground to any man. |
