The hatbadge of the Royal Australian Artillery. Identical to the British and Canadian Corps. The badge worn by Officers of the RAA, has a wheel that turns. ORs (enlisted men) have a badge without a turning wheel. The badges currently on issue are made of plastic.Currently Australia uses the British designed and Australian made L119 Hamel 105mm gun with a range of over 11km.The L118 configuration with UK Abbot ammo is also used. This ammo is electrically fired and has a different ordnance, which has a range out to 17km. Also in limited use is the US M2A2 105mm gun. In Mdm Arty role, the US M198 155mm towed gun is used. Australia has no self propleed guns in service.
Holsworthy 'Coral Lines' is home to 'A' Bty, the Army's only Airborne Artillery. Also in Coral Lines is 10 Bty (AKA - Tenacious 10), of 23 Fd Regt, just down the road from A Bty. - 'Ubique'!
