1) This film (we can presume) is most likely about a group of women (bad start) who enjoy shopping for expensive clothes, talking about relationships and being disparaging about men. These are not really themes that guys enjoy!
See other shows like Entourage, most movies that talk about women like they are prostitutes. But unlike men, most women don't take a movie so seriously and actually enjoy it for what it is, a film and not something that is going to dictate the world.
2) There's the constant sense of men being judged - appearances, money, status, social skills, sexual performance and yes, most guys are insecure enough to worry about whether or not they measure up, so to speak.
You act as if men are the only ones being judged. Every single person IS judged based on those things by a bunch of shallow idiots that exist in abundance in our world.
3) The comic element. Many blokes have a real blind spot when it comes to girls and humour. They just can't find women funny. And even if they can - and this applies to the vast majority of men I'm afriad - they see being funny very unsexy. Maybe not if it is the dry wit sort of humour and a guy doesn't feel upstaged by them, but that's about it.
Sorry but I feel you're speaking only for yourself here. I know many men who first and foremost enjoy spending time with a woman if she is funny and not bland and boring.
4) The promiscuity. These are women who seem to do a lot of sleeping around. A lot of men don't trust women who have this inclination as they don't expect them to be faithful in a relationship. You must know plenty of honest girls who've had paranoid boyfriends who think girls are just waiting to 'upgrade' them for a better model. This sort of sexual liberation frightens guys.
Oh and I suppose all men are innocent virgins who only commit to one woman their entire life.
I'm sorry but all these reasons are that of a 13 year old boy on the verge of homosexuality. Perhaps a condescending father might of been the cause for the damage and insecurities this boy is facing? I know REAL MEN who haven't necessarily watched Sex and the city at all but don't feel threatened by a FILM or sexual liberation. The only type of man that doesn't enjoy a powerful woman is one who is not confident in his own power.
