* Trouble with a capital T. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You didn't expect to get away with it did you? After a long talk with Serena, Jenny decided to take a walk back to her home in Brooklyn. It had been a rather tiresome evening as she felt all kinds of emotions draining from her body as she had over exposed them during the day. She pushed the front door open with ease and shut it lightly behind her as she began to walk into the living room. “Jennifer Humphrey!?the deep voice that was her fathers came up from behind her as she was just about to sprint into her room for a well deserved nap. The blonde turned around to find a room full of people, one of whom was the girl she punched hours ago and her mother sitting there. It’s true what they say, the Marciano woman didn’t sleep till they got what they wanted. “There you are,?STRONG> scolded Rufus as he approached Jenny. “Do you know what kind of trouble you’re in young lady??/FONT> “What??It all seemed unclear to Jenny why Jolene would be sitting at her house but then she put two and two together and remembered punching the brunette earlier today and the consequences came in the form of harsh punishment. “Miss Humphrey,?one of the lawyers called out whilst walking towards her. “Do you recall punching Miss Marciano in the face today??/FONT> “No!?Jenny exclaimed assuming a lie would suddenly get her out of everything. “Then I must present you with THIS,?he emphasizes on the last word before handing her a picture of Jenny’s fist meeting with Jolene’s face. "Now do you recall the punch?" he literally interrogated her. Jenny looks over at Jolene who looks away as though disappointed and then towards Melinda Marciano who stares at her like filth on the streets. Rufus steps in and stares Jenny down before turning the conversation towards Mrs. Marciano. “I know we have evidence of my daughter hurting yours but is there any possible way Jolene might have brought this on herself??he asks trying to stir something up, which causes Jolene to glare at him. But before she can speak, the older Marciano steps in. “Mr. Humphrey, how dare you??she questions. “My daughter is nothing but the sweetest little girl around. Jolene has been a celebrity from a very young age and it is both mine and her duty to maintain an image appropriate for young girls attempting to follow in her footsteps. There is absolutely no way my daughter asked for your spoiled little girl to get physical with her.?/FONT> Not knowing how to answer, Rufus looks over at Jenny who simply shakes her head in confusion and asks, “How did this all happen??/FONT> As we fade back to what happened earlier that day, both Jolene and her friend Erik van der Woodsen reached the Park Avenue pad that was primarily owned by the Marcianos. It was a private dwelling, complete with a garden of their own as they owned a loft on the ground floor. Jolene quickly pushed open the wooden door, warmly welcoming her friend inside their garden. As they stepped in, a woman who literally looked like the older version of Jolene, presumably her mother, greeted them with the most expensive cookies in New York. “Erik!?she chirped as the young blonde walked towards her. “Jolene, you didn’t tell me you were bringing a friend along.?/FONT> “I intended to come alone as I was hurt, mother,?she says, expectant of sympathy. “But lucky I ran into Erik who had just arrived at the party.?/FONT> “Fashionably late,?he adds. The senior Marciano walks over to him and pouts as she speaks. “It’s been too long since I’ve seen you. How is Serena and your mother?? “Oh she’s fine,?Erik replied disinterestedly as he walked passed her. It seems as though Jolene was pulling him by the arm, the same one he cut himself with, as they headed towards Jolene’s own loft. Following them, Melinda Marciano placed the tray of cookies over an elegant wood desk and proceeded to inquire about he events leading up to the punch heard round the world, the one that her daughter wore shamelessly on her face. Jolene, who immediately sat down in front of her pink dresser and began covering up the black mark on her high cheek bone with cake loads of concealer, glared at her mother in response. “I went into the ladies room to find Jenny,?she later recollected her version to the lawyers and Rufus while they waited in the Humphrey household. “We simply exchanged pleasantries, rehashed our past together and that’s when things started to get rough,?sighing loudly whilst dabbing the corners of her eyes, she was hoping to be sympathized with. “I guess we went over the incident of me putting a worm in Jenny’s sandwich when we were toddlers, which into triggered her rage. She told me she had changed since then and swore to take me down if I ever stepped back into New York and today, I did. The cause of this was because I also revealed that I harbored a crush on her brother. I did give him a kiss when I found him outside but that was it. Perhaps, that might of also been what triggered her annger.?/FONT> From the corner of her eye, Jolene spots little Jenny rolling her eyes at that statement. “Is that why she decided to punch you, Miss Marciano??questioned one of the present lawyers. “I believe so,?responded Jolene with innocence in her eyes. “I told her, at that time, that I was done having this conversation and proceeded to walk out of the little girl’s room. Even Dan can tell you that when I stepped out, she came running after me, turned me around and punched me right in the face." the last few words are jumbled with tears that she forces out. “Of course, she made it worse by publicly trashing me, in front of the cameras. Do you have any idea what this does to me? I have a public image to maintain.?/FONT> All eyes are now on Jenny as Jolene smirks at her rival. Back at the Marciano household, Jolene is now left alone with Erik in her room and we all know from past experiences, only bad things can become of that. “Jenny has been acting up recently,?Erik blurts out innocently. “I think her dad is more likely to ground her again once he hears of this situation. She stole someone’s dress recently and was in the house for more than two weeks.?/FONT> “Oh really??asks Jolene as she begins to pace around the pink heaven she calls home. We see a few laced butterfly masks hanging on her wall, presumably given by chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld to her, next to a cabinet which holds a collage of some sort. A picture of a young Jolene and her father, Dr Nicholas Marciano, sporting a blonde mop on his head is clearly visible on a pink frame. Although it was one of her most treasured memories, Jolene picks up the frame and places it faced down. Perhaps she does not want her dead father to see, through the gates into her life that is the picture, what a manipulative bitch she has become. “I really wish I didn’t have to do this, Erik,?her attempt of trying to sound innocent was going well so far. “But I have to take legal action for this.?/FONT> To be continued.. |
