Seem as mere ragged mortals

Tossed in the winds of chance

Now sadly tarnished

Performed their will on the world

In the hope of final victory

With blood dripping still from the last order

They moved man and machine

To stop and then defeat

Self proclaimed mortal gods

 

Even as we revisit

Beaches and lands of history

Praises still showered

On our grand fathers deeds

Even as we trod

Our own difficult path

We can not let heroes, leaders rest

In the comfort of their deeds

 

Without the magic’s of today

They dared the lives of many

In the final push to victory

On foreign beaches and lands

Casting might against might

The struggle numbing and deadly

They performed deeds and saw moments

Best never experienced by man

 

Let us learn from the past

The cause for the reasons

So we might avoid the struggles

Of blood, of men, of machines

But let us be hold firm

To our right to freedom
