Just watched American Idol and I actually feel angry.   Can someone tell me how that Jason whatever his name is - with the dreadlocks is still in there.  I couldn't believe that it he made it into the top 10.

Week after week he gives excriutiatingly embarrasing renditions of songs and goes sailing through.  Why?????

Surely he is not your average American girl's dream guy!  Who is voting him in each week?  We get to see who is sent home tomorrow night - you already know in the USA.  The other three are pretty good - please God let sense prevail and he heads off into the sunset this week.

Moan over!

He is even worse than Sanjaya was last year because he is so smug.  When Brooke was sent home last week he was standing directly behind her grinning at the camera.  He is as annoying as the camp lad was at the beginning of this year's Top 12 - No wait he is even more annoying because at least the other lad was sending himself up.

As Simon said last night "Get your bag ready".  Just got a dreadful feeling that he will be kept in and either Sayesha or the older David will be heading home

I didn't know that you folks don't see both shows consecutively..I almost spilled the beans. I actually missed the first half of the season because I'm a faithful "Biggest Loser" fan and it was the same night.  Now that's over and I've watched the last 3 weeks of 'Idol'..and like you I cannont believe this kids has gone so long without getting the boot he so rightly deserves.  What looks 'dreamy' to the young girls looks like a dork on drugs to me.

On the other hand..the black girl...( I still haven't watched long enough to learn names ) is  a real talent and I hope she's the real American Idol.  That girl can sing..but she's also got that 'stage presence' too that makes her look professional.  So I'm rooting for her !!

The best I can figure Jason Castro's appeal is his eyes. The dreads have to go, but maybe if you're 13 they're sexy, I dunno.  As for his voice, I kinda like him myself. He's got that James Taylor kinda sound, folksy. Certainly not American Idol material though.

I won't spoil the surprise, you'll see who get kicked off tonight (although Donno's probably already looked online and will bet Hazel ).  As for the winner, my money's on David Cook, although he's not the once I like best.

YYYeeeessssssss!!!  at last!  at least the tree remaining ones are talented enough to make the contest open.  I think any one of them could win but I think David Archuleta needs something more than his voice and I must admit that is amazing in one so young.  He really needs to develop a stage presence that will match the emotion he manages in his voice.  You really cannot sing a huge emotional song and then give a cheesey grin at the end of it.

I think Sayesha has it all - good looks and figure, confidence on stage and a great voice too - BUT - we have seen it all before.  If I compared her to Leona Lewis (X Factor winner 2006) she would definitely be a distant second and we really don't need another Whitney/Mariah/Tina wannabe.

So my personal choice would be David Cook because he is different and has tried his hand at so many different styles.  Plus his rendition of "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera was so wonderful I have it saved to favourites on Youtube.

Actually - I am rooting for David Cook.  I didn't like him at the start because well he just wasn't my thing!  Daft hairdo and yet another faux rocker.  But over the weeks he has been the one to consistently rise to the challenge of trying something out of his comfort zone.  His performance of "Music of the Night" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOcpwazvTwU ) is one of the best things I have seen on American Idol - all seasons.  Probably only second to Clay Aiken's "Solitaire" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xesnCf1R7_4&feature=related. )

For those on the USA who have never seen our X Factor - check out these links to songs performed by Rhydian who - even more so than David Cook - was probably one of the most repugnant auditionees ever - but over the weeks totally blew everyone away and showed more humility thatn any other contestant.

I sat through both of these with tears streaming my face.

But now to the the matter of who might win.  Clay Aiken and Rhydian both came second!  You never can tell with the public vote can you!

Did you see Rhydian after the Final in the X-tra Factor prog ? He sat there sulking because hed come 2nd He shouldve won it ,yes, but he makes my skin crawl
did you see his ex girlfriend kiss and telling in the paper? She says he doesnt believe in sex before marriage.
The winner Leon has all but disappeared and where is Rhydian's album?

I am not sure that not believing in sex before marriage is actually the worst thing anyone can say about you!  If that is your belief then that is personal to you.  There are always people who will come out of the woodwork and want to make a quick buck through some tenuous link to somebody famous.

Fact is Rhydian should have won but very often it is not the most talented that wins - Leon wasn't even the second, third or fourth most talented - but was voted on by the teeny bopper brigade.  Then after that first record he will never be heard of again.  Rhydian will not be promoted yet otherwise it negates the idea of there being a "winner" who will then get a £1million contract.

My feeling is that Clay Aiken was the most talented ever and he still has a thriving career which eclipses that of that year's winner Reuben Studdart.  His contract is with Simon Cowell's company - BUT he came second.

I am trying to watch and just think who is it that has it all.  David Archuleta is cute and had a wonderful voice but his youth means that though he puts the emotion into his voice he doesn't really FEEL it because otherwise he would not beam the moment he finished the song.  So David Cook still gets my vote.

Oh and I would be pouting off screen if I had just lost out in a competition.  You  have to be a good loser but only when you KNOW people are looking.  It is heartbreaking to lose.

I would like to see Archuletta win, but I don't think he will.  They've made a big deal here about how his father is a "stage" father, and he's been banned from rehersals now. Consequently, David A. didn't do as well in this last round. He's got great potential, but I think David Cook is ready for the stage.

Not that it matters. As Sue said, Clay Aiken's career has far outclipsed Reuben Studdard's (Idol winner). In fact, I thought I heard somewhere that Studdard's contract had been cancelled. As Paula is so fond of saying, this is the launching ground for careers. So many of the Idols have fizzled out, and othere in the top 10 have gone on to stellar careers.

Going back to Archuletta, he'll get a contract in any case, and I'll be buying his cds!
