I'm sad to see the Salt & Pepper Mill go cuz I just LOVE that thing & how easy it is for one-hand operation. I can't really see me or alot of my customer base getting into two separate grinders for salt & pepper, although I DO like the new Peppercorn Medley.

I'm also sad to see the Med Round Stone along with its Rack. I wonder if the Rectangle Stone is soon to follow since they are dropping the Rack that fits both it & the Med Round Stone.....

Speaking of stones, am I the only one sad to see the Cranberry Oval Baker retired? I LOVE that thing.

Ok, anyone else wanna join in on my lament? LOL

Marian

They said that the new knives are stamped, just like the current Knives w/Sharpening Cases are.  No extra description in the Mini Catalog.

I'm really sad to see the chillzane go, but hopefully that will make August really good!!!

I'm also surprised they are getting rid of the french vanilla stoneware.

Marian - we are 2 peas in a pod with products.

I am SO sad to see the current salt/pepper mill go away.  I love it and will be checking the outlet always to see if it shows up there.

I don't like having 2 different ones (I don't use salt at all, only hubby does), so the little that fits in our current one is fine.

I'm also sad about the wovens...I was hoping they'd start selling the woven for the medium square bowl that we earned about 3 years ago.  I love that one (and my large square woven).

Add me to the sad about the woven's list!  I have been waiting forever for one to come out for the rectangle stone!  That's my most used stone and I don't have a woven for it.  I use the woven's A LOT.

Me too about the Chillzanne's.  I'm thinking I'll send out something now and something again in August about them going.  I'm tempted to purchase a few extras for personal gifts and for those who miss the announcement.  I know there's warranty issues when we do that, but I just love them too much!

I'm glad they didn't get rid of the self sharpening knives only redesigned them.  Not everyone can afford a forged piece.  While they aren't super sharp, I use mine on a regular basis in addition to my forged.  I've had mine for 8 years and they still cut well, just not as smoothly and effortlessly as the forged.

I'm thrilled with the new S&P, but think the S&P Mill we have now should have still stayed!  There's a market for both.

I'm so glad the list of retiring products is smaller this season!  Well, other than losing an entire line of Chilly's!

The Chillzane items for sure. I love mine. Thankfully I do have all of them. And I use my big bowl every time I have to make the black bean salsa dip.
But I guess they'd rather get rid of them then to up the price so much no one would buy them.

I would be surprised if the rectangular stone goes.  I think the only reason they are getting rid of the medium round stone and rack are because they now have the medium round stone with handles available.  Please someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I was also surprised that the rectangle rack was going.  I understand the medium stone now has handles, but the rectangle stone is still there (and my favorite for cookies).  The rack shouldn't be retired IMO

I am very sad to see our one handed Pepper mill go.  You can get the 2 handed style anywhere.  I don't understand the reasoning other than they are bamboo and to have one for salt as well as pepper.  Heck keep them all in the line!  I am still upset about the small oval bakers going away last time.  Being a single woman I do a lot of cooking in the toaster oven.  I am a big fan of baked macaroni and cheese so the oval baker gets used for that at least once a week!

My rectangular stone doesn't fit right in the medium rack, the stone is too big. And of course, it is too small for the large rack. Kind of a pain. And also one of the reasons that my rectangular stone doesn't get used much. And I don't have the medium stone...

The stone and the rack are made for a pressure-sensitive fit.  It will not lie flat on the bottom of the rack or it would slide off.  You should apply enough pressure for it to be snug.  Too much pressure and you will bend the rack.

HTH!

No recipe really. It is just a basic white sauce with some cheese added.  I boil my pasta (whole wheat of course!) put some milk in the small oval (cover the bottom) add a heaping tsp of cornstarch, a sprinkle of dry mustard and some pepper. Whisk that together and cook in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds until thickens.  Add LOTS of cheddar cheese and stir until it melts add pasta and mix.  Put in oven and bake until it starts to brown.

And balance it carefully on the oven rack or it will tip over and your cookies will slide off!
LOL!

Can we say, then, "not so sad" to see the rack go? I think the new medium round w/ handles will be wildly popular w/ past medium round and rack customers, and others who've been hesitant because of the rack.
