Ok, not that I'm trying to rain on our parade of new products, but I just couldn't help but say "What were they thinking" ..... when they came up with the beaded servers/spreaders? I don't know about you, but these just ain't my cup of tea!! I know I know, I can hear alot of you saying right now, "what do you mean, Marian? I LOVE 'em!! YOU'RE the cRaZy one!!" Ok, so it's just me....or is it? LOL We all have a "right" to our opinions, & well, you've just heard my -2¢ worth!! LOL So anyone else gotta "What were they thinking?" opinion on the new products? I just thought we could have some fun with this & perhaps even try to "sell" each other on those products that we just can't possibly see selling ourselves. So let's hear it from all of you!! PS I can't help but get the image of Luigi from "Cars" the movie, saying "Look at me! Here I am! LUV me!!" LOL |

I'm right with you, Marian! I don't like the beaded servers, and truth be told, I'm not excited about the entire product line in general. Don't get me wrong, I love the dots, but it's just more dots! There is no new product that made me say "oooooh, I have GOT to get that!" I do like the bamboo bowl, and I know people will like the 5" santoku (many say the one we have is too big). The new trivet is beautiful. The rest of the stuff....doesn't do it for me! No flogging please....just sharing my 2 cents as well. |

I'm with you guys. The beaded servers just seem cheesy. They are heavy, though! I'm concerned about the wine glasses & Christmas platter & plates breaking during delivery. They only have a 30 day limited warranty--I wonder if we'll have issues with this. Oh, and those Christmas spreaders? LOL Cute, but we'll see what they look like in person. (I don't remember feeling them at Conference) I'm bummed that the Season's best only has 24 recipes in it. I agree with Darcy--it's nice, but nothing that I'm jumping up and down about. Amanda |

Are the holiday products a mid-season product or will it be available starting 9/1? I like the plates, but I'm not sure about the beaded servers. I'll wait until I see them before I comment.

I'm with you, Marian, the beaded stuff is not my cup of tea. The holiday plates are beautiful, but why call them "holiday" plates and then put Christmas trees on them?? I wish it was swowmen or snowflakes instead.
I do love the 5" Santoku. That's the only "Gotta have it!!" product for me.
And the demonstration of the crown bundt pan was hilarious when the dancer who was holding it turned it inside out right in front of his hips and it looked like you-know-what.. ;) LOL :) |

We haven't really had any mid-season products for the past 2 or more seasons. They will be available on Sept. 1st. I'm very excited about the Rotary Grater. They wouldn't let US use it/try it but I did insist on feeling how cold the cheddar cheese was before she grated more in the product showcase room. I'm kind of guessing but I think the the INSIDE of the new drum would hold the old cheese grater in it [if it were entirely round, of course]. It's a NICE and BIG barrel and holds more cheese. You can grate it forward and backward AND make your own cheese blends because the hopper is larger. It doesn't matter what the temperature of your cheese is and you can do cheddar with parmesan...doesn't make a difference, it will all grate the same! It's still interchangeable for left and right hand use. Sandi |

Good call on the "holiday" plate Geli! Not all of our customers celebrate Christmas, but we do all experience winter...some of us more than others (can you hear my slight jealousy of those who don't get buried under snow every winter? lol!) Michelle |

I think the beaded servers are AWESOME! They are nice and big. Wait until you see them in person. I love 'em. I am very excited about the fall products. People will be entertaining at home more than ever b/c of rising costs. There was not one product that I went huh?? I'm excited for this season!! Sandi |

I wonder when they think of things like the beaded things, what market are they targeting?
i am not into the whole dots thing either. The glasses remind me of Wonder Bread bags with all the dots. |

I was not overly impressed w/the beaded servers but they are nicer in person than in the pictures & the "beads" are more squared off than they look, so they fit nicely in your hand, not uncomfortable like I expected. Not my style though. I agree about the plates - they are christmas plates, so just call them Christmas instead of Holiday. I would much rather have seen snowflakes or snowmen on a blue-tinted plate or even just green trees with snowy highlights & no stars on top. I think the coloring is a little gaudy (for lack of a better word right now) & something a little less "graphic" in style would have been better. I'm sure some people will love them (they aren't heavy at all, btw) but I wonder what all the people who don't celebrate christmas will think?? I love the salt & pepper mills - I prefer to grind sea salt, when I do use it, and have been waiting for this BUT the price is outrageous! I thought at first the price was for a set, not one. Yes, they are nice & large, too but for the price I would have expected something that felt heavier. I think I might wait until it's on special. I'd love to know why the new "cookbooks" are so much smaller - they're just like spiral-bound recipe card collections. All the new ones have fewer recipes than in the past- not sure I'm liking this trend. Oh & was it just me or do the drink charms all look alike?? I know there are different colors on each end but it only looked like there were 2 or 3 colors... not 4. Did I just not see the 4th color or were 2 of the colors just so close that I couldn't tell them apart? That one really puzzled me. oh jeez, that practically turned into a novel, didnt it? Sorry about that. |

How many recipes does season's best usually have? I've never actually checked. A lot more than 24? are at least 95% of the 24 in the fall/winter 2008 one new? at least that would make it more worthwhile...but if most of them are repeats...then, I don't blame you...that would disappoint me as well... |

My upline director loves the beaded serving spoon. Because we don't have anything nice to serving using our Trifle Bowl. When you do a show what to you use - bamboo spoon or one of our scrapers - not that cute. She love the beaded spoon to server anything out of or beautiful Trifle. You kind of have to agree! |

Good point about the beaded servers. I've used the outdoor serving set or the new small spoon from the chef's tools to serve from the trifle. They don't exactly go together.
Plus, the beads are red and white; they could be used at many other holidays besides Christmas or Thanksgiving. Think Memorial Day, New Year's Eve, 4th of July, Labor Day. |

Well, my change over kit just arrived, and I've had a chance to check out the Season's Best. It looks like at least 6 of the recipes are repeats. Lots of yummy things, though! Can't wait to try these! Amanda |
