It was just announced this week that a long-time 2nd grade teacher at my kids' school has breast cancer.  She will be undergoing treatment and will not be at school for the rest of the school year.  I would like to do an HWC fundraiser in her honor, but am not sure of the best way to approach the school about doing this.  In addition, another mom at the school just told me last night that she is doing the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk in Sept.  She'd like to do a fundraiser for that, plus maybe make up a t-shirt or something referencing this teacher and walk in her honor.  Any ideas on the best way to handle this?

TIA!
Teresa G.

I would talk to the teacher first.  Let her know what you are thinking and get her blessing.

Then you can approach the school administrators, get someting in teh parent bulletin or whatever.  Just get the word out.

I think that is a great way to honor her and the influence she has had on your children's lives.
