I just got the following sent to me from my hosp dir:

HI TEAM:

Just want to make sure everyone gets their New Pampered Partner Plus (P3) system downloaded soon, and start using.

Procedure:

Go to 'Consultants Corner'
Click on the last red tab "Download Center"
    Managing Business
    Pampered Partner Plus
On left side go through all the procedures there
Then hit Install Pampered Partner Plus

It willl bring all your shows over to the new system and even start the show numbering with the correct show #.

They want us to have both systems on our desk top, and start using (P3) until you are comfortable enough to discard the old system.

I believe they want us on the new system by September 1.

The LAST LINE is what I'm wanting to know is true or not?? I haven't EVEN wanted to look at  PP3 but if it IS true it looks like I will HAVE to!!

Please anyone know the answer to this?? Maybe I've overlooked the info on this & perhaps I have.... I'd just like an answer.

Thanks,
Marian

Marian - when I was at Conf. - Wave 3 - I spoke with some of the techies and took the Website/P3 workshop.  The guy I was talking with said that one season, maybe two and then everyone would have to be on.  I don't know how official that is - but he was the HO computer guy.

I do not think they are close to being ready for everyone to switch to that program yet.  It is still "full of bugs" as my HD put it.  He is also a computer geek.  I switched to it several months ago and have not been happy with it.  For example, I left for conference showing show # 207 on P3.  Came back and opened it up to add something to that last show and send it.  When I opened it, it did an automatic update, closed itself, reopened itself, and then 2 of my last shows said that the update had caused a fatal error and they were gone!   WHAT THE ******.  So i go and push the restore from back up button, and it restored me back to June 15th and several shows were gone and one that was sent was showing not sent.  So, I wait till Monday and call tech. Support.  They ask what the original screen said,  I tell them it said alot of stuff but I remembered something about a fatal error.  they told me that since I couldn't remeber what the exact error was that they didn't think they could do anything and put me on hold for SEVERAL min.s, as luck would have it my VOIP went dead, and I had to call back in using a cell phone.  The next guy (after explaining prob again)  took me to some jar files and walked me through a bunch of stuff and it didn't restore it either.  Said I would just have to re-enter the lost shows.  I was fuming.  Hung up, went to run errands and had the bright idea that maybe he had not went back far enough.  So I went to those jar files again, found the one for the 14th ( the day before I left) restored it to that, and WALAH! I have it all back.  Thank goodness!  Moral of the story is:  Make sure if you are on P3 you back up to a thumbdrive or such EVERY time you log off after putting in something.  Otherwise you can lose data during those updates :-(  At least you will be able to restore back if you are saving often enough.  SSL, but thought it was important.

I know I am in the minority, but I really like P3.  The screens are so much easier to navigate, and it has a lot of potential.  That said, I realize that they are still working to improve it all the time.

PP is not going away yet. But the following note from the July 10th Weekly Bites, may have prompted the idea it is being discontinued:
PamperedPartner® Software Change
Starting Sept. 1, PamperedPartner® users will no longer have the option of transmitting orders using the private phone numbers included in the software. All transmissions must be made using an Internet connection.

If you have been using the private phone numbers to transmit orders, your PamperedPartner® program will automatically switch to the Internet option when you install the fall/winter update.

If you don't currently have Internet access, you might consider subscribing to an Internet service provider. Otherwise, beginning Sept. 1, 2007, you'll need to submit your orders through the mail. The Home Office will accept the printed Show Order Form from PamperedPartner®.

Technical Support can help you with changing your electronic connection. Please call the Solution Center at (888) OUR-CHEF.

I also really like P3, they are making updates and upgrades all the time, and now we have most of the reports that we had in PP.  Yes, there are still a few bugs and things I'd like to see change,d but I also had things in PP that I wantedt o see changed.

If you are hesitant about P3, then upload it and start playing....soon you willn ot have a choice, so why not give yourself the time to explore it instead of being forced with little time to acclimate?

If you are recruiting, your recruits only have P3, so better to be knowledgeable about it to help them as well.

As for backing up, even if you are on PP you should be backing up frequently, and not to your C drive - to a separate drive (flash drive, CD, disk, whatever).  If your computer crashes, you want a backup of your system!

I too like PP3.  I didn't switch over until March but now that I have been using it, I really like it.  I like the fact that is automatically does an update every time you sign in.  That way you won't forget.  I haven't used it to it's full potential but I'm working on it.

When I started PC about a year ago I was shocked at how "Stone age" pampered partner was, coming from another MLM company I had expected a more computer savy program. as a result I only used the program when I needed to, I didn't do reports or anything extra, just placed orders and got off, I didn't even enter contacts or notes. Plus mine was extremely slow and I had a brand new computer - so I know it wasn't my computer~!

So when P3 was introduced, I installed right away, and noticed a difference right away. Everything seemed to contect, and I update every time I log in . I also have noticed spending more time within the program, printing labels, running reports, fooling with the templates.

I think it would great if everyone was on the same page, I think it would keep things simple. Plus it is true recruits will only know P3, unless they were consultants many years back....

I've always believed that if a company gives you a new tool to use, there is a reason why they provided it. It would be foollish to second guess their reasons for doing something. It reminds me of my rebel downline in the my previous MLM, they wanted to re-invent the wheel.. as a result they failed.
