Thanks to Jeanine Ganier for passing this along:

I was looking through a magazine that is all about 'gifts under $50.'  There was an article in there --Trivets That Take the Heat.  They wrote about different  trivets.  Titled one 'The Multitasker'.  This was the silicone trivet.  Now it was not Pampered Chef's trivet, but they gave other ideas on how to use it.  Not something they could do with the other trivets.  I thought I would share this because PC's Hot Pad Trivet is made of silicone and we can use these tips in our shows if you choose.

  • Grip & loosen a stubborn jar lid with it.
  • Set it under pans in the sink to prevent scratches.
  • Use it as a nonskid pad under mixing bowls, cutting boards & vibrating appliances.
  • Place one under your pet's food or water bowl to stabilize it.
  • Place garlic cloves in the center of a pad in the palm of your hand & rub the sides together to peel away the skins.    (I would think this one is if they want the garlic whole cuz we have an awesome Garlic Press for other purposes.)
  • Keep one in the glove compartment in case you have to unscrew a hot radiator cap.
  • Place one Hot Pad in a Medium Square and place a small square atop it! Pretty. A nice color pop!

don't forget it's great to stick under your kid's butt in the high chair or booster seat to keep them from sliding down (especially the wooden restaurant ones).

Also the perfect size for bathing babies in the sink:  they don't slip or have to feel the plug under them and the trivet doesn't float.

Please don't recommend using these to remove a hot radiator cap.  Too dangerous.  You should wait for it to be cool or you may risk serious injury!  Otherwise thanks and I love the tips!
