Guardians of the Watchtowers

The Watchtowers are actually the cardinal points of the circle; North, East, South, and West. Each of these points are guarded by the Watchers. To some these Guardians are Archangels, to others they may be Dragons, or Elementals. Again, it all depends on the person's opinion, preference, or comfort. The task of the Guardians is to supervise those who belong to the point. For example, the Guardian of the South supervises all beings of the South.

The Guardians are experts to their corresponding point, and when one does a spell - let's say water spells - and needs assistance, it is the Guardians of the West whom one would invoke for assistance. When performing rituals, it is the Guardians that are called to protect the points in the circle, during the ritual.

The following is a table of the names of the various Guardians. Also, remember use the group of Guardians that make you comfortable.

Most people think Dragons are mythical creatures that were in existance in ancient times; Some seem to think they never existed in any time frame; There is a problem with both of those statements. Reason: Dragons do exist; but not on the Physical Plane. They are Astral Plane creatues that only appear to those that a) believe in their existance or b) know about and travel on the Astral Plane.

There are 5 main types of Dragons:

* Earth Dragons

* Air Dragons

* Fire Dragons

* Water Dragons

* Chaos Dragons

We are quite sure there are more types out there, but these are the major ones that are known to most that have any knowledge about Dragons.

Dragons are just as curious about us as we are of them. If you are fortunate enough to befriend a Dragon just remember 2 major rules:

1. If the Dragon makes you feel uncomfortable, politely tell this to him/her and they will usually understand and move along their path and leave your path alone;

2. NEVER lie to a Dragon. Just as you and I don't like to be lied to, neither do they. They can usually detect when you are lying and will more than likely move on their path if they are annoyed enough.

Earth Dragons

Air Dragons

These are the ones that will assist people that are in need of Air qualities, but are most easily seen by Air types. To find out more about the Air qualities visit my Element & Zodiac Correspondences page.

Fire Dragons

These are the ones that will assist people that are in need of Fire qualities, but are most easily seen by Fire types. To find out more about the Fire qualities visit my Element & Zodiac Correspondences page.

Water Dragons

These are the ones that will assist people that are in need of Water qualities, but are most easily seen by Water types. To find out more about the Water qualities visit my Element & Zodiac Correspondences page.

Chaos Dragons

These are the most, how shall it be put without offending them... odd of all Dragons. They are the most unpredictable, yet the most helpful of all Dragons; With the exception of the Dragon Master. They encompass all yet are still distinct. They tend to be highly destructive, and even highly seasoned magicians can and most likely will have problems handling their unpredictable nature. This is a situation of let them come to you; don't call on them. We don't want to be in an "I told ya so" situation and we don't want anybody to get hurt, whether it is the person you are trying to help or yourself.

This is all that will be said about Dragons at the moment, but I'm pretty sure at some point I will have more info to post on them.

Elementals

There is one major rule that you MUST remember about Elementals:

Do NOT boss them around!

Although Elementals are usually willing to help humans, they do not like to be ordered around. Also remember that sometimes if you ask for help they may not be willing to do so. Remember to respect their wishes just as you wish to have your own wishes respected.

With that said we shall now attempt to describe each of the Elementals

Gnomes

Looks	The best way to describe what a Gnome looks like is one of the 7 Dwarfs from Snow White.
Attitude	They are most similiar to Grumpy; very reluctant to help, but when they do, you should be greatful.
Offering	When thanking a Gnome for their assistance usually picking up a shiny stone and leaving it somewhere in your home each time they assist you. Sometimes a shiny coin works too.
Direction	North
Best Use	Earth Magick

Sylphs

Looks	I personally don't know what they look like, and the old addage of "Who has seen the wind?" seems to apply. Maybe somebody else has seen the Sylphs, but I have only felt their presence on a hot summer night when I requested a cool breeze; and I was very greatful.
Attitude	Sylphs like aiding those that wish to soar to new heights on an intellectual level. You will sometimes hear them give you suggestion for what you are doing. An old song says "The Answers are Blowing in the Wind".
Offering	Incense burning is the suggested offering to these creatures.
Direction	East
Best Use	Air Magick

Salamanders

Looks	Very similiar to the actual Salamander lizards that are found in warmer climates, however they look like they are on fire.
Attitude	Just like the Fire Zodiacs they are very tempramental. They are willing to help but remember to put limits on them when asking for it or you could get burned (figuratively speaking).
Offering	Candle flames; they like fire ... what can I say?
Direction	South

Ondines

Looks	I have never seen an Ondine as of yet, but I have read in the book Practicial Solitary Magick, that they look like donuts in the water.
Attitude	Reluctant to help all the time but when they do you are almost guaranteed success in your magickal workings.
Offering	I am not sure why, but they seem to like perfume.
Direction	West
