They neglected themselves and each other, and even the earth itself. In time the earth revolted and so did modern culture. Storms raged across the planet. Nature lashed out as well as power hungry people. Between the storms of Man and Nature, society broke down, nations broke down, and millions perished in the aftermath. Few communities survived intact. Only those who knew the old ways of surviving and caring for each other and the earth endured. This is a story about one such community, Chalandor. Founded shortly before the holocaust on the principles of harming no one and living simply, sharing and exhibiting mutual regard for each other and the earth. Seen as odd and even evil by outsiders, it was to Chalandor they turned to for safe haven and protection from the chaos that had gripped their times. The founders of Chalandor created a culture built on the foundations of ways of the wise, teaching newcomers to live and thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect and honoring the Goddess and the God, the earth and each other. They practiced magick to protect their community and turn away negative forces. A way of life brought out of remembered legends and myth that forged a strong and positive society out of the ashes of a world that had been consumed by turmoil, greed, politics, and selfishness. Two hundred years since the cataclysm that tore the world apart have passed. The damage done by wars and natural disasters have erased the knowledge men had to destroy themselves many times over. Much of the post apocalyptic world live as they did in the Dark Ages, the rest lay in ruin and decay. Chalandor remains as a beacon of hope, and the priestesses that built it, guide those who have come to learn how to live in peace and harmony. This tale is one of a turn of their Wheel of the Year.
