We can't go deeper in the wisdom of our gods and goddesses,
but we'd like to share with you something about them and their aspects.
We hope that this will help you understanding our old
and not so lost tradition!
The Feminine Forces: We can found it in the Earth and the Moon. She is the Lady of the Woods, the Mother Nature and the White Lady of Purity. She is the four seasons, the woman in each one of us.
Elves see the Feminine Divine Power as a Fourfold Goddess, something close to the Celts point of view. We can find Her, naturally, as a Four in One, like the four phases of the Moon. She is the braid in the hair of all Elven women:
The Lady- Purity
The Mother- Fruitfulness
The Enchantress
The Crone- (or Old Mother) She who begin the last travel
This Fourfold Goddess can be found in the seasons, or changes of Nature.
Spring- The Lady- She who creates- blooming.
The Lady is :
A free spirit, active being, natural, instinctive, psychic, open minded, individual.
She is called Heriavitë.
Summer- The Mother- She who give food- fruits and flowers.
The Mother is :
Receptive, rational, mature, philosopher, giver of foods and advices, reflection of the inner balance and of the individual energies.
She is called Táratári, or Kementári
Falls- The Enchantress- She who is all mighty.
The Enchantress is:
Transformation, control, psychic, open and free. She gave all what she could give. Now, she is one again with herself, but she is always here for us.
She is called Amilaquantë.
Winter- The Crone- She who waits- descent, last days, waiting for spring and the return of life.
The Crone is:
Reflective, devotional, sedative, intuitive, introspective, spiritual, reflection of the individual energies.
She is called Valainalairë.
Elves do not see Winter as the end of life. More, they do not even see Death! Death is more like an end of something and the beginning of something else. Winter is something more like Death...stagnation, waiting, sleeping...but spring always follows. So is life!
Understanding those archetypes and living by them is understanding life its'elf, and, living life its'elf too!
The Masculine Forces: We can found it in the Fire of the Sun and the far and shy light of the star far away. This is the Light and Shadows. He is the warrior, the king, the knights, who defend and give advices, who protect and guide. But also he is the shadows, the dept, the sage and the mage.
There are principaly two forces, split in two again:
Light/the Day/King and Warrior /Summer or light side of the seasons/Oak King
Shadows/the Night/Wizard and Guide/Winter or dark side of the seasons/Holly King
The Lord of Light is: compassion, fertility, growing. Rational, physical, it is the powerful guardian of the tribe, a warrior of the light, the Sun and purity and justice.
Split again, we find the Knight and the King. The first one is the protector of justice and truth, defender of innocence and purity. The King is the protector of light, heritage, life as a hole, a clan. The King think as a long term, a life long time. The Knight live in the now and for the Self.
The Knight is called Roquenon.
The King is called Arianon.
The Lord of Shadows is: inaction, introspection. Intuitive, the kingdom of spirits and inners'elf. He is the mystic, the contemplative thinker, who teach, tell the ancient tales. He is the guardien of wisdom and magic. He teach the tradition and protect our blood heritage (tradition, customs...).
Split in two, we find the Wizard and the Prince of Darkness and Shadows. The Wizard is a guardian of wisdom, secret, magic and use it for the good of all. We could say that he is Gandalf or Merlin! The Prince of Darkness and Shadows use magic too, and he knows almost everything the Wizard knows, but he use his powers for himself. The Mage, or the Wizard plans to the now and live in the present moment. The Prince plans for tomorrow, for a life long future.
The Wizard is known as Istarion.
the Prince of Darkness and Shadows is known as Haryon Mórë.
Understanding those archetypes and living by them is understanding life its'elf, and, living life its'elf too!
