What's ordinarily a very excitable full Moon, is pulled taught with dangerous tensions with lots of squares that form a mutable grand cross. Across the 'net, astrologers are talking about the volatile squares, and the Moon in Perigee, a SuperMoon (to use a phrase first coined by Richard Nolle) at its closest to Earth. To get the lowdown, here's Aquarian Solutions post Super Moon Super Quake. The dynamic energies charge the Earth grid for super events, that shake things up.
It shakes us up, too, where it's hard to focus. It brings a sensation of being pulled in many directions, being stunned, dazed, shattered, etc. On the up side, there's being bedazzled, blissed out, inspired or utterly fascinated by something. What's normally fluid gets zigzaggy, with lots of quick changes as we try to find a new equilibrium. Expect the unexpected under this full Moon, and experiences that crack apart the old ways of ordering things. That cracking apart is one way new ideas ways of being are hatched, as the limiting structure is outgrown.
In his talk on 2012, William Henry wondered if the acorn is cracking so a new oak can come to life. There's talk of a new consciousness emerging that will create a new Earth. It's the symbolism of the Cosmic Egg cracking open. It's the caterpillar becoming the butterfly. And all around the world, we're seeing the stirrings of revolution and change (Uranus in Pisces), at odds with what's become the prison of the status quo (Saturn in Virgo).
In her book 2012 and the Galactic Center, Christine Page writes that the mutable cross is a place of action, reaction, experience, and the awakening of consciousness. She continues: The symbol is the swastika, which is an ancient sign reflecting the freedom that comes when we learn to master our thoughts and desires. Each zodiac sign of the mutable cross represents a different focus for the mind:
- Gemini: the consciousness of duality.
- Virgo: the blending of spirit and form through self-reflection and contemplation.
- Sagittarius: focused awareness on the truth.
- Pisces: blended radiance through universal consciousness.
If shake-ups happen under this full Moon, it could be disorienting for awhile. The changes have to be ordered through each of these mutable ways of the mind, for a full picture to emerge. You can think of it as a collective initiation of what shaman's go through when they lose their mind before they start to see with new eyes.
The tension of planets in squares and oppositions, means that something new is created from that build-up. Just as there's potential for earth quakes, there's also potential for groundbreaking ideas to percolate. Strange, otherwordly events may happen. The definition of metamorphosis is change of physical form, structure, or substance especially by supernatural means. Something may happen that opens you to your multi-dimensional nature. You may experience a spontaneous healing, or have a vision that shows you a whole new path of inspiration. Keep a journal handy for the stream of consciousness that's sure to flow forth.
Full Moons are often a time of celebration or illumination. But if you're tuned in to what's happening, you're aware that we're in uncharted territory, a time of great transition. Do what it takes to ride these waves, whether it's soaking in the tub or moving furiously to music. And that might change from moment to moment, too. Be light on your feet, and don't worry if you feel pulled in many directions. Above all, trust that, as my West Coast friend says, the universe is benevolent, and there's a reason for all this breaking down around us. In what feels like a symbolically explosive time, trust that you have what you need to make it through with flying colors.
