Tree of Life

Take some long grounding breaths ...breathe in through your nose...1...2...3...4.
and out through your mouth as if you are gently blowing on a candle flame, but not extinguishing it....1...2...3...4...
and again...in...1...2...3...4.
Out...1...2...3...4.
In a comfortable position with your eyes closed, imagine you are sitting with your back against the trunk of a tree.
Feel the bark against your back and the strength of the tree.
Take some deep breaths and imagine a white light surrounding you and the tree.
Know that no harm can come to you.
Take a moment to feel the heartbeat of the tree.
Connect with it and feel the safety that it emits to you.
Now imagine a root growing out of your tailbone growing into the ground.
Your connection to the tree is that you are now one.
Feel the earth around your new root as it extends down into the ground along the trees roots.
Smell the dark rich scent of the earth as you travel down into the ground.
Take a deep and cleansing breath and let it out slowly.
Feel the growth and the cleansing spirit of the Deep earth pulsating around you.
Take your root about 4 to 5 feet down into the earth.
Now with an audible exhale release any pent up energy you may have into the ground and down into the earth.
At this point take notice of how you are feeling?
Next, become aware of your spine against the tree trunk.
You are one and running together you feel the steadfast strength startingto comfort you.
Sit up straight and look up through the tree branches at the sky, the clouds, and the sun!
What do you see? You have a deep smile as you feel the serenity.
You feel yourself growing taller and your hair becomes leaves and branches.
Feel the air above you and the sun warming you.
What do you see in the branches?
You cradle all that is within your branches as you are their nurturer...their protection.
Imagine calmness and strength filling you up and flowing out of your body.
How do you feel?
You are complete.
Talk to the tree.
Listen to the wisdom that is in the communication.
This is for your own growth as the tree has seen generations of growth and love as well as tradgedy and has survived to nurture you.
You are but a sappling in the wise tree's mind.
It will guide you into balance. Feel it's love and strength. Write down the wisdom you have learned.
You may thank the tree for lending itself for your awareness.
When you feel ready, draw your root up out of the ground and fold in your branches knowing you can return to the safety of this tree whenever you want!
take a finishing and thankful breath and know that you are new and fresh. You tree of wisdom is always there for you.
Count back and know that you are complete.
Always take a moment after this meditation and write down your experience while it is fresh as , many times , the memory fads as much as you think you will recall all details, you will not. They are fresh at this moment so write them down.
