AMBER

Used for the solar plexus chakra. Amber was one of the first substances used by man for decoration, and it was employed very early on for amulets and medicinal purposes.  Those who owned Amber felt that they had a talisman of great power.  A highly calming ‘stone�?that facilitates energy balancing and cleansing. Removes psychic attacks and energy draining from others and the spiritual world. Used by healers as a protective shield against taking on others pain in healing and spirit work.  Also used as a preventative measure during séances and in astral traveling, may also help to prevent jet lag or sickness when physically traveling.

  

AMBER TUMBLES

Used for the root and solar plexus chakras. These are incredible gem tumbles of Amber!  Amber transmutes negative energy into positive energy, so another good choice when traveling with companions.  The red ray is highly energizing and creative.  I find Amber to be very simulating and allows me to get out of that 'writers block' emotion.  Again, Amber in all colors is highly protective but I feel that it also offers us the emotion of pure joy.  Brilliant and alive as it once was!

Metaphysical Properties ~ Amber was one of the first substances used by man for decoration, ingeniously carved animal forms have been discovered in Norway.  These curious objects were worn as amulets and were used to enhance the power of the stone.  Amber was also used at a very early period for medicinal purposes.  Today Amber is also valued as a healing stone for energy balancing, mental and emotional strength and to calm the nerves.

 

I like to use Amber as a protection ‘stone�? it serves as a protective shield against taking on others pain in healing sessions.  You can easily clear (draw out negative energy) and protect your healing space, room, or office with Amber.  To do so, simply hold in your right hand (projection hand) a piece of Amber.  Imagine a bright golden light emanating from the Amber to the center of the room, corners, and ceiling.  As you do this, focus your intent on clearing the space of unwanted energies.  You may wish to say a short affirmation, I use this one ~ "May the golden light of Amber clear away unwanted energies and replace them with love and protection, So Mote It Be!"  This is great to do before meetings or at discussion groups where ideas are being exchanged as it brings clarity to aid in decision making.  It is an excellent ‘stone�?to use in protective shielding during spirit communications, as spirits will not transverse it lest they become stuck.

Numerology ~ Amber vibrates to the number 3.  Creativity and joy!

Gemological Properties ~ Amber is the fossilized hardened resin of the Pine Tree, Pinus Succinifera, formed in the Eocene period about 50 million years ago.  Amber is usually light yellow to brown in color, but can also be in shades of red, orange, blue, black and green.  It is organic in nature and does not have a crystal system; it is considered to be amorphous (without form).  Amber is usually found shaped as nodules, often with a weathered crust.  It is sometimes found with inclusions of insects and other organic matter such as parts of plants.  The largest deposit in the world is found in Eastern Poland; but Amber also occurs in Burma, Dominican Republic, USA and on the sea beds of the Baltic Sea.  Therefore, this is not a stone or crystal, but a fossil!

 

  

BLACK JADE NEPHRITE

Enhances intelligence and understanding between family members. Aids understanding and healing of karma, fosters peace on Earth and in oneself, promotes Earth healing and compassion for animals, plants, and birds.  A great stone to use when you need grounding to get through your day. One of the best stones known for providing grounding energy when feeling anxious.  Gives balance and grounding when used as the root chakra.  I like this stone because of the smoothness and the way it makes me feel.  Held throughout your day to give you that patience needed in order to counsel clients. This is a new find from Australia and I am thrilled to have found it!

 

JET

Used for the root and solar plexus chakras. Jet, like Amber is thought of as possessing a certain talismanic virtue, so was worn in amulet form.  In history, jet ornaments were worn and believed to be apart of the very body and soul of the wearer, and therefore were guarded with jealous care.  Jet is used to dispel fears, protects one against violence as well as illness.  Some like to use Jet to awaken kundalini.  Jet is a good choice for protection during travel, it also prevents jet lag.  Is also helpful in treatment of headaches, stomach pains and epilepsy.

Metaphysical Properties ~ Jet is one of those stones that is not used for healing work as much as it should be.  Jet is a very black organic mineral which is highly protective.  It was used in times of antiquity for not only protection against the evil eye, but also in times of mourning.  You see Jet quite often in antique jewelry.  I just love Jet and always have a piece of it in my collection.  I feel it is good for protection against others negativity.  However, it is also good to carry it with you to use as a worry stone.  I find by rubbing my fingers across Jet that the smooth surface promotes a calmness within, especially when I have anxiety.  Some say it is useful for headaches, however, I have not experienced this.  Much Jet that you see is actually plastic or glass, so be very careful when purchasing, make sure you buy from a dependable source.

Numerology ~ Jet vibrates to the number 8.  This number is about personal power and abundance.  Abundance can be anything you wish it to be.

Gemological Properties ~ Jet is an organic mineral; it is a compact, ornamental form of lignite coal; a chemical composition of primarily carbon, with some hydrogen and oxygen (a hydrocarbon).  The color is very dark brown to black.  It is commonly seen cut into cabochons and beads, sometimes you see it in buttons and carvings.  The refractive index is 1.66, the specific gravity is very light at 1.32.  The hardness is 2.5-4, very soft, so be wary about cleansing it in rough dry salt or fast running water.  The major sources of Jet come from Whitby, England, but is also found in Canada, France, Germany, Spain and in theUSA.

  

APACHE TEARS

'Apache Tears' is actually a volcanic type glass also called Black Obsidian.  Obsidian has many healing properties. Like other black gemstones it is used to ground scattered energies.  The stone emanates truth and will show you your strengths and weaknesses. This is a powerful stone with potential for positive cleansing and transformation. It is a wonderful teacher, it aids concentration and meditation, and absorbs negativity by 'pulling' it out of your system.  Many people use Obsidian for a protection stone as well.  An excellent stone to have during spirit séances.

Numerology ~ Black Obsidian vibrates to the number 1.  Number 1 is about courage and leadership, having strong will power and determination.

CARNELIAN

Used for the abdominal chakra.  Orange symbolizes creativity, sexuality, emotions and intuition.  Carnelian is warming and is a wonderful 'healing' stone for it stimulates the belly chakra, releasing energy into the system.  Carnelian has been used in healing work for ages.  Some uses are for increasing physical energy, power, and creativity.  Some like to use Carnelian to discover their personal talents.  Carnelian physically aids exhaustion, weakness, depression, asthma, and bronchitis.

Metaphysical Properties ~ Carnelian is one of those stones that should be in every healing kit.  It is wonderful for working with the second chakra; creativity, reproduction and stability.  Carnelian encourages curiosity and enthusiasm and is warm and energizing.  Some like to use Carnelian to relieve their fear of death, while bringing an acceptance of the cycle of life.  A good motivator in business, aids positive life choices, and dispels apathy.  On a physical level, Carnelian is used to heal lower back problems, arthritis, female reproductive problems, increases fertility, and activates the lower chakras.

Numerology ~ Vibrates to the number 5.  Freedom, independence, adventure and travel.

Gemological Properties ~ Carnelian is a microcrystalline or cryptocrystalline quartz. It is often referred to as agate. This stone is semitransparent to translucent and is usually seen as light yellow to a dark reddish orange in color.  The chemical composition is SiO2 and is from the trigonal crystal system.  The refractive index is 1.54 and the specific gravity is 2.60.  It is found all over the world.
