Alder Moon Spell
Alder is the tree of wholeness; it is tough, resilient, and healing. This Moon appears a few days before the Spring Equinox, a time when day and night are nearly equal. This is the day to treat your mind, body, and spirit. Lavender coordinates well with the Spring Equinox. Hoodoos believe lavender is a neutral, balanced plant, suitable for all relationships--heterosexual, gay, lesbian, and transgendered. It is also medicinally balancing, as it can stimulate or calm as needed. Sip lavender bud tea today to attract positive spirits and alleviate negativity. Dab pulse points with lavender essential oil. Lavender essential oil attracts good spirits, has a positive effect on your mood, and is antibacterial. At midnight, bring lavender, a charcoal block, some matches, and a flat large stone outside. Sit down on the ground in a clear space. Set the stone in the moon-light. Light the charcoal, and set it on the stone. Add a few pinches lavender at a time. Lavender incense is calming and very fragrant. |

Anam Cara Spell
The anam cara is the Celtic soul friend. This is someone that loves you unconditionally, either physically or spiritually. Cover a mirror with a scarf or translucent cloth. Light one yellow, one white, and one pink or green candle, and place them on a table beside the mirror. Turn off the remaining lights in the room, and light some cedar incense. Turn the mirror slightly to the left side and greet your anam cara. Imagine that your soul friend is joining you through the mirror and is listening lovingly to you. Speak from the heart, and share all that you need to share. Tell everything to this friend that you are afraid to tell others. Be completely honest. Stop every now and then and be silent, allowing messages to come through. When you are finished, thank your friend and blow out your candles. |

Anubis Travel Spell
Anubis the Egyptian jackal or hunting dog is a protector, guardian, and opener of ways. Its nature is movable and when invoked for guidance prior to a journey away from home, Anubis navigates the traveler through unforeseen obstacles during the trip. Obtain a picture of Anubis and tuck it into your luggage. This will ensure that it will arrive at the same destination upon your disembarking, instead of turning up in the town of Usa in Japan. Being the patron of navigators, Anubis is the St. Christopher of the Western world and guards and protects your welfare and belongings. After you return home from a successful and happy trip, place the picture of Anubis on the altar and give thanks. |

All-Purpose Protection Spell _ For a dose of all-purpose protection, mix sage and fenugreek (or fennel) with a pinch of allspice, and cover with enough boiling water to fill a mug. Stand over the pot and visualize it glowing first with bright green, then with potent blue protective energy. When the potion is thoroughly imbued both with the herbs and your positive thoughts, pour. As you sip the aromatic brew, think of its protective energies seeping into your body, and into your aura. Gradually, your personal emanation becomes brighter and denser. With each taste of your tea, visualize yourself increasingly surrounded by a psychic raincoat that is impermeable to negativity. |

Altar of Peace & Serenity Breath deeply and slowly Relax into the healing music Feel the warmth of peace fill you
Breathe in calm...Exhale tension Open yourself to all healing energy This moment is eternal, experience it Be as a leaf....and float on your breath A Gentle Spirit is waiting within you to unfold itself. It takes great courage to be kind and gentle, but it is worth the risk of opening yourself to others. Connections made with an open and compassionate heart open the way to undreamed of possibilities. Your life is a miracle waiting to be fully explored and discovered. Only an open heart can unlock the treasures that await you, and bring true happiness.
Just as a leaf floats upon the wind and finally comes to land upon the Earth, you too can allow yourself to trust the universe and go with the flow. ~*~*~*~*~*~ Quan Yin...Goddess of Peace
At this moment in time......I am calm
The universe will give me all the things I need......If I ask
The sacred balance of Yin and Yang......is my natural state
I am grateful for the abundance that has been given me...... May I remember to always use it well Breath in deeply . . . and let your spirit soar, joyous and free |

Atonement Spell
Color of the day: Red Incense of the day: Cinnamon
This is the time of Rosh Hashanah, the days of judgment and remembrance. It is a time of prayer in hopes that one is not found lacking on Yom Kippur, when they are judged on their actions of the past year. Light a purple candle, set a bowl of water before it, and sit watching the flame’s reflection dance in the water. Try to judge yourself honestly, and see where some atonement of your own might need to take place. Make a mental note of the more pressing transgressions, vowing to abolish bad habits from your life and to make amends for the wrongs that have been committed. Take steps to forgive those who have made transgressions against you as well, lightening your karmic debt.

Altar of Light
Color of the day: Amber Incense of the day: Eucalyptus
The Sun is our ultimate source of light, and nothing captures this light quite as beautifully as crystals. To create an altar of sunlight, set up your items outside or near a sunny window. Use a table or even a box or bookshelf and arrange various crystals and stones that sparkle. Sit and meditate while gazing on the shimmering stones. For an evening altar, use candlelight. Arrange various candles so their light shines on crystals and makes them glow. Find candle holders carved from crystals or use colored glass as well. Meditate on the light and consider how we take light for granted and the power that the element of Fire has in our lives. Remember that light contains all colors and harness this ultimate healing light for your individual needs.

Attracting the Fairy Folk
Color of the day: White Incense of the day: Alder
Whether you dwell in the country or the city, you can make your residence more appealing to the fairy folk with a few thoughtful steps that can be done in your yard or in outdoor planters on your deck or balcony. Cultivate a few attractive plants—bluebells, lily of the valley, ferns, cowslips, or rosemary. Within these plantings, embed a small, attractive bowl as a place for the fairies to bathe and frolic. Tie a few tiny silver bells onto the plantings. Add a couple of dried milkweed pods, complete with milkweed down, for the fairies to use as beds. A simple but lovely fairy house can be made from a birdhouse and added into the fairy garden. Remember to leave gifts of shiny glass beads, sequins, silver charms, or the like. The fairies love sparkly gifts just as much as we do. Above all else, remember to speak words of welcome and invitation to them whenever you are near the fairy garden.

Aftermath Spell
Color of the day: White Incense of the day: Cypress
After seasonal revelry, you may wake up one morning with that headache you can only get from too much of a really good party. While prevention is the best cure (drink lots of water), sometimes you forget that ounce of caution. Because of that, I present you with the purification-by-water cure. After stepping into the shower and breathing in the steam for about half an hour, stop for a moment and pay attention to where the pain is located in your body. Does your head hurt? Is it your muscles? Do your joints ache? Focus on the pain and embody it, perhaps as black oil. Allow the water to wash over your body, particularly the affected area. See the water sweeping the pain off your body and swirling it down the drain. Inhale more of the steam, feeling the purifying water flow in through your pores.

Ancestor Altar
Color of the day: Red Incense of the day: Ylang-Ylang
Our ancestors are the root of who we are. One very special way to remember them and honor them is to create an ancestor altar. The ancestor altar can be a part of your personal altar or a separate one dedicated only to the ancestors. Gather pictures of the ancestors you wish to honor, as well as any little mementos of your loved ones you wish to add for an even deeper connection. Consider adding a doily crocheted by a loved grandmother for an altar cloth, a vase from an aunt’s dining room to hold flowers, or use a saucer from a cherished set of china for holding water. Assemble the altar with reverence and love, recalling fond memories of each of the ancestors you honor in this space. Continue to honor them with gifts of fresh flowers, incense, and candles, and thank them for the joy they brought to your life.

Spell for Abundance
Color of the day: Purple Incense of the day: Violet
September 26 falls in the middle of the greater Eleusinian mysteries, a time honoring Demeter and Persephone. On this day, the holy basket of Demeter was paraded through the streets. On seeing the basket, people shouted, “Hail Demeter.?The holy basket of Demeter contained sesame (for riches), carded wool (one’s finished work), grains of salt (kinship), a serpent (resurrection), pomegranates (Persephone’s fruit), reeds (a plant both fragile and flexible), ivy (healing and protection), and cake (prosperity). Build your own Demeter basket. You may want to substitute certain items in your basket, but try to have your substitutes correspond with the same attributes. Center your Demeter basket on your altar. Light a yellow-gold candle and pray to Demeter for good health and abundance throughout the year.

Amethyst Travel Spell Color of the day: Brown Incense of the day: Maple The amethyst is also known as the “come-home-safely?stone. Take an amethyst and anoint it with a protective oil. Place the stone on a piece of white cloth. Sprinkle honeysuckle, sage, and vervain on it. Tie the four corners together to make a little bag. Bless the bag, and place it in your pocket. Say: “Safe I travel to and fro, I will come home safely, this I know. By this rite, it is so.?Forget about the stone. Replace the bag every three months. The same sachet can be used for protection during astral travel. Tuck it under your pillow, and replace it every three weeks. By: Tammy Sullivan |
