A Cleansing Rain Spell
Color of the day: Purple Incense of the day: Cypress
Let the summer rain help you remove negativity from your life. When rain is forecast, gather these items you’ll need for this spell: an earthenware dish or a terra cotta flowerpot saucer, and some soil. As the rain approaches, fill the saucer with soil and pack it firmly. While thinking of your problem write a word or two describing it in the soil using your finger. Or using a stick draw a simple outline in the soil depicting your issue. When the rain begins to fall, place the dish of soil outdoors. After the rain stops, the image you drew in the soil should be faded. Sprinkle the soil upon the ground as a sign of thanks and let Mother Earth aid you in solving your problem.

Crystal Healing Spell
Color of the day: Blue Incense of the day: Rue
Quartz crystal has long been used in many cultures for healing a variety of illnesses, as well as for protection. In Scotland, round or oval-shaped amulets of rock crystal were used as protective charms and as healing agents. These rock-crystal objects were often held in the possession of certain families, who kept them safe over many centuries. When someone needed the use of the stone, it was dipped into a silver vessel of sacred water, which the person was then given to drink. One of the last known instances of this type of charm was in the early 1800s, when a clan chief dipped the stone in a bowl of water gathered from a fairy spring. Here is a crystal spell for healing:
Crystal gathered from Deep in the Earth, Bring me wellness, Luck and health. May your brilliant light Infuse my soul, Transform this water and Make me whole.

Cutting Away the Fearsome Foe
Color of the day: White Incense of the day: Ylang-ylang
In Tibet on this day, the monks performed an ancient ritual to eliminate negative forces and hindrances. Dressed in yellow robes, they used vocal and instrumental sounds to invoke creative awareness. Begin this ritual by allowing yourself to vocalize freely whatever sounds come forth, melodious or dissonant. Play music that inspires you to dance as you cast a circle, sprinkling flower petals or potpourri thrice around. Scent a basin of warm water with sandalwood oil and wash your feet. Dry them off well and rub them with a little olive oil. Using a henna paste, paint them artfully with spirals, circles, and other symbols. When you are ready, begin your ritual dance, improvising movement that you feel expresses the release of dark energy as you move counter-clockwise within your sacred circle. Then change direction and dance sunwise, pulling in toward your solar plexus feelings of joy and positivity as you chant a mantra of purification, “Om mani padme hum,?and cut away the fearsome foe!

Clear-seeing Spell
Color of the day: Brown Incense of the day: Ivy
It’s difficult to see things clearly. Often our own emotions get in the way of looking objectively at a problem or decision. Make your own charm to use when you need some objectivity. Take a quartz crystal and cleanse it in the smoke of some frankincense incense, then rub it with some mugwort. Hold it in your hands and impress upon it your desire to see things objectively, with a clear head and clear vision. Leave the crystal where it can catch the moonlight for the night and then the day’s sunlight. Carry it with you. To use, simply hold it and focus on seeing things clearly.

Crystal Clearing
Color of the day: Yellow Incense of the day: Lavender
Crystals are another precious gift of Mother Earth. It is not necessary to have a new crystal for every purpose or working. Crystals can be reprogrammed to new uses with just a bit of forethought and planning. When a particular working for which you have charged a crystal is completed, under a waning Moon, collect up the crystals no longer in use and thank them for their energy in your working. Clear them by first smudging them with sage and cedar smoke and then cleansing them in a salt water bath followed by a good rinsing in clear, running water. Place the cleared crystals in a windowsill where they can receive light from the Moon as she passes through her cycle. After a full Moon cycle, the crystals are once more ready to be charged with a new purpose and a new working.

Courage to Seek Help Spell
Color of the day: Brown Incense of the day: Honeysuckle
We all suffer from feeling sad, and while we can boost ourselves through short down-periods, persistent depression needs medical treatment and emotional support. When you’re so sad you know you’re going to need help, give yourself the boost you need to ask. Take a bath scented with mints, and have a cinnamon incense or cinnamon-scented candle burning while you take the bath. Inhale it, and allow yourself to feel its energizing quality. After you’ve gotten out and dried off, don some red clothing; a red shirt will do just fine. It’s important you be comfortable and feel you look good. Add a fresh energizing cologne. Look at yourself in the mirror, and see yourself as healthy, and a normal person reaching out with a normal need. Then pick up the phone and call a friend or a medical facility and ask for help.

Children Blessing
Color of the day: Brown Incense of the day: Marjoram
The Matralia is the festival of the Italian goddess of the dawn, Mater Matuta. This day was for the safe birth and happiness of all children. Women traveled to the temple with their sister’s children and prayed for their welfare. This would be a perfect day to work a charm for the happiness and health of the children of your friends and relatives who bless your life. List the names of these beloved children on a piece of paper. Then set a white candle in a holder on top of the paper. Light the candle and focus on the children. See them happy, healthy and strong. When you are ready, read the charm.
Mater Matuta, Watch over these little ones I pray. Make them grow both strong And true, gaining wisdom Every day.

In Celebration of Caffeinia
Color of the day: Purple Incense of the day: Carnation
Ah, the blessed goddess Caffeinia, a grand lady whose blessing is required by many to get through the day. Today, let your morning brew, whether it is coffee or tea, be an act of blessing and thanksgiving. As you fill your pot, take a few moments to meditate over the water. Focus your intentions for the day into the flowing, clear water. Think about what you wish to accomplish, how you wish to feel, how you want the day to flow, how you want to be viewed as you move through your day. Brew your beverage. Take the time to savor your drink, drinking in once more all the intentions you set forth as you prepared the brew. Now go forth and greet your day with your energy focused for the positive accomplishments ahead.

Chant to the Goddess
Color of the day: Coral Incense of the day: Violet
The world is in bloom, and the energies of the earth goddesses are alive at this very magical time of year. Step into a secluded natural place and breathe seven times into your heart chakra. Open yourself fully to the beauty and the power of nature in its many guises and manifestations. Speak or sing aloud this invocation of the divine feminine in her magical flowering in spring:
Flower-garland of the earth Flower-garland of the sea You are the bounty of the earth You are the treasure of the ocean Flower-garland of the stars Flower-garland of the skies You are the eye of morning You are the Sun of creation I call to you, In your flowering Queen-Maiden of compassion For you are The vessel of fullness And you are The cup of wisdom. As I revel in your beauty May I drink From your cauldron For you are the fulfillment Of all the world’s desire.

Charm for Beauty
Color of the day: Silver Incense of the day: Neroli
Today’s waning Moon in Aquarius is a perfect day for this beauty spell. The waning Moon, visible in the early hours of the morning, will help you let go of negative attitudes you have about your appearance. Choose a safe place outdoors where you can perform this spell. Prepare a vial of three drops of ylang-ylang mixed with almond or vegetable oil. In the pre-dawn hours, go to your safe place and invoke the goddess Flora. Ask her for the blessings of beauty and pleasure. Dip your fingertip in the vial and trace a flower on your forehead. Say: “The earth awakens to a new day, so my body.?Repeat this, drawing an oil-soaked finger on every part of your body that you formerly felt badly about. Pour the remaining oil onto the ground, visualizing your old feelings about yourself sinking into the earth.

Clearing the Air Charm
Color of the day: Black Incense of the day: Sandalwood
Sometimes family members just need to clear the air so we can move on and create healthier, happier relationships. To clear the energy in your home today, clear the air—literally. To make a cleansing spray you can use for several months, add eight to ten drops of the essential oil of orange or lemon to half a cup of distilled water in a dark glass bottle with spray top. Invert the bottle three times to mix the ingredients. Hold the bottle while the rest of the family stands around you, everyone touching a hand or shoulder so that you are all connected. Remind them of the feelings of love, comfort, and laughter that you have shared. Have everyone imagine your family bonds as strong and joyful. Then send that energy into the bottle. Whenever you feel the need to clear the air, spray this around and loving energy will fill your home.

Cloud Gazing Inspiration
Color of the day: Green Incense of the day: Jasmine
Have you ever picked out images from clouds? Cloud gazing can be great fun, but have you ever used it for divination? Like water and fire, clouds can be a wonderful canvas for the manifestation of divine inspiration. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Form a clear question and hold that until you feel it fill your being, then blow the question out into the universe with your breath. Open your eyes and pick out three to five images from the clouds above. If you can hold the intent longer without your mind wandering, feel free to pick out more images. When you are done cloud gazing, put all the images together to find the pattern they share. What story do they tell you about your question?

Color of the day: Ivory Incense of the day: Clary sage
In a small saucepan combine one cup of cider, one stick of cinnamon, and nine whole cloves. Heat until the mixture is warm and fragrant. After dark, pour the mixture around the garden or home. Speak this charm:
I have brewed this potion With my hand, To protect my home And my land. No dark spirits Shall dwell in this place, For I have blessed Every crevice and space. Any friend who comes, Night or day, Shall be welcomed To sit and stay. But no foe Shall darken my door, Today, tomorrow, Or forever more.
When you’ve finished, press the cinnamon stick and cloves into the earth.

The Call of Wild Hunt Color of the day: Brown Incense of the day: Lilac On windy moonlit autumn nights, when clouds scud across the sky, the Wild Hunt can be heard. The Wild Hunt is a ghostly cavalcade of spirits, led by the lord of the shadows as they ride from the otherworld to carry back the souls of the newly departed. As recently as the mid-twentieth century this phenomenon was reported in England. If you should be alone on such a night, light a candle and intone the following words: Riding on the night wind, Free and unreined The riders of the Wild Hunt Ride untamed. The hunting horn Sounds its blast, A hundred stallions Thunder past, Stars gather In their flowing manes. As the door to the Otherworld opens again, Carrying spirits Of those who’ve come before, And those whispered about In secret lore, The huntsmen rush Through the shadow of trees, Leaving their message On the autumn breeze. They turn the cosmic Wheel of fate, For they are the keepers Of the gate. By: James Kambos |
