sounds good Darryn. I went to the Wacom site and did their little wizard thing. so i guess it comes down to size. the 4 x 5 or the 6 x 8. Dana |

Hello Dana, I use the 4 x 5 tablet and flat out love it. A larger one would be nice and some of the features are nice in the larger ones too. For the price difference I don't know if it'd be worth it though. Put this way ... I haven't found anything I wanted to do with the 4 x 5 that I couldn't! (For pattern making anyway) LOL There's still time though!! LMAO ~Andy |

hi Andy, thanks for the info regarding the sizes. i was looking at the 4 x 5's mainly due to the price and really was wondering how they could run from $149 to $3++. man, for $3++ it had better also load the dishwasher and let the dog and cat in and out multiple times a day! LOL but i've also noticed that with the lower priced ones sometimes software is not included. I have PSP8 and am still not sure that i'll be able to use it with that program. And I guess that is my next question. Will the table work with my PSP? (covers eyes for fear of what Andy may try with his tablet next) ROFL Dana |

Hi Dana, LOL I bought mine at Future Shop for the $149 price and it comes with all the software for drivers needed and also came with Adobe Photoshop Elements and some other stuff. It'll work GREAT with PSP ... although if you load Photoshop Elements I'd imagine you won't be using the PSP for too long. LOL Adobe is my preferred software for patterns and that was after I'd used PSP for a year, did a tutorial on PSP9 ... I'll never got back to it although it does have some features I use from time to time. ~Andy |

hiya Stan, sorry i didn't get to meet you at the last meeting, but hopefully will soon. i think i had gone out to the CompuSmart site and tried a search for the graphire tablets, and either Wacom came up or none at all came up... sorry, can't remember which. what are some of the other manufacturer's of graphics tablets? i guess i should google that and find out eh? lol i did look at the HP website since DH got me a new puter last xmas and it's an HP, but i believe what they had was some cover type thing for the keyboard (or keyboard shaped) but i knew that's not what i was looking for. thanks for your help Stan! Dana (lost in tablet world) |

If you decide to buy a different manufacture than Wacom, be sure to know the return policy where you purchase it. LOL I went through 2 different tab's from a company called EWorks I think? and took them both back. They did save money but I was so frustrated trying to make the do what I wanted that I it almost made me stop trying to create patterns. Wacom is definitely the leader in the industry that everyone else is trying to be like ... but not doing so well. I see where PCMall has some refurb's for ridiculous cheap ... full warranty, like new with all the software. A 6 X 8 for $75!! 4 X 5 for $40 ... wish I'd have seen that when I was buying. ~Andy |
