Been trying a new approach this time,  I waxed the card and then scraped out the image and then heated it up again to get different effects in these next 3 pics.

well done Iced like the color's in your heart,the stair way leading to nowhere left me cold, Autumn reminded me of whats to come ,and the tree fantastic under the sea.i must find time to have a go.do you use ordenrey wax crayons and an house hold iron? what paper do you use?

I use special card to work on although you can use paper but I haven't yet tried my art using it.
 
The wax I use are little squares which heat up nice and smooth on the iron.  I have used crayons but they don't melt evenly, crayons seems to leave gaps in the wax.
 
The iron is a special one as most domestic irons have holes on the base so they are not suitable, the iron has to have a flat base, a small travel iron is what I started out using but I decided I would have the real thing as it also can be used as a little hotplate.

thank you Iced i took a look into the site looked good then i spoke to a friend about Encaustic art ,she put me onto a new center that we have in our town that are doing this art, so i went along to have a look, and WOW i have booked my first lesson, only 5 to the class max,and there products are cheaper,

That's great! I mean not only Iced's works but that min has been moved to go to learn it.
 
These are the occasions that make this group's adventure a very nice thing.
