Well I went to see this with an open mind after having read the reviews. The reviews said it was the best laugh that they had had for a long while and I have to agree with them. I am not a fan of Brad Pitt but again with open mind I decided to go and see it as I love Romans, Greeks fighting stuff etc and hey it's got Orlando Bloom in it too. It took me until the film had run for about 40 mins to really get an atmospheric feeling built up. I really couldn't help but want to laugh out loud at Brad who was the only one who fought doing silly jumps and ninja style leaps when he fought. I found the sea scenes a bit too computer graphic style for me and I kept looking for the cutting and pasting marks ! I think they were trying to make the film a mix of Gladiator ( with the music they had in the background ) and Lord Of The Rings ( a lot of the actors looked more like they would have been in LOTR ) All in all I saw it to the end and I am glad I saw it on the big screen. Some nice scenery. I sudder to think what it will look like on a tv screen. Even Orlando couldn't save the film even when he resorted to some brilliant bow and arrow stuff. (Legolas rules! lol ) Rating 2/10 |

I do A-level Classical Civilisation, so I can guarantee that this film has little to do with the Illiad. It may have been good Hollywood, but Homer would have been turning in his tomb- the Trojian War was supposed to take 11 years, not 2 days! and just what happened to Agememnon? However, ignoring this, it was a fairly good movie, with some good period setpieces and well cast actors. |

I would check it out, but with a score rating of 2/10 I don't think I should! Not sure I have the patience to get through nearly two hours of boring fighting. I'm not a big fan of Brad Pitt, either. Still, I like Jennifer Aniston. I like her character "Rachel" in "Friends". The show is a classic. Candy Girl |

The problem is that anyone familier with Homer's Illiad & Odyssey will know how it ends |
