I hack at thee with unmitigated glee /
I attack your side, on't left /
You'll never escape me.  You'll see; you'll see /
Without you, I'm bereft.

So I use you; abuse you; attack your shoulder blade hard /
Dig into your left flank low /
And work my way through your torso like butter or lard /
As you scream, "No".

How is this spot I chose above your left rib? /
Your antibodies are killing the pills the docs gave /
Who's idea was it to let you live beyond't crib? /
Must be Satan's, for now I can hit and deprave.

You squirm, and writhe under my pressure, yes? /
Your screams are wordless for you have no breath /
Am I wearing you down?  I am, I guess... /
And you'd really much prefer death.

You removed my partner, the kidney stone /
So the job's left to me on my todd /
No solace even in food; you feel helpless; alone /
Just a Reaction, am I?  No - I'm God!!!!

Note to all you religious ones out there

The reference to God is to the Reaction having control over me like God.  I am not saying that God Himself is the One giving me my pain...though in other cases [headaches, often], I do often blame God directly...but that's another tale...

You write with alot of pain. I do hope Earth K. That you are healing and this pain will soon be a  thing of the past. I have questioned God many times, regards to pain and suffering ect, I do not feel guilty for it.Its all part of being human  isn't it ?...
You express your self so well,
Hope your having a better day ..( Cuppa soup)? ,
Lab

Pain and suffering is all part of the human experience. But feeling pain is just awful. I've felt pain all my life and I still can't get used to it! Pain doesn't always just hit physically: it can also hit emotionally. I, myself, have walked life's winding road and I still see and feel pain wherever I go [uh oh: calling everyone with the devil inside!!!]. No, but seriously, I find life tough. That is why I wrote the poem "Holy Mary": because I look to the light and see the end of hell.

Yes Stripey, there is alot of pain in our lives unfortunately, but it is a part of  life. If we didnt have pain and suffering, accomplishment and celebration just wouldnt be the same now would it.

Looking forward to more of your very heartfelt poetry mate

We are not

meant to stay wounded. We are supposed to move through our tragedies and challenges and to help others move through theirs. By remaining stuck in the power of our wounds, we block our own transformation. We overlook the greater gifts inherent in our wounds—the strength to overcome them and the lessons we are meant to receive through them. Wounds teach us to become passionate and wise.

No-one asked for God to do anything.
I certainly didn't.  I'm not even the poem's character.

The character is the talking manifestation of my Pain.  And it thinks of itself as as powerful as God.  That's the poem's words.  Read it and you'll see.
