Urban Myth
Paranoia is the name of the game,
For this fear of fat,
Has taken over society,
And made people anorexic,
Or bulimic,
People suffer everyday,
For not fitting the thin ideal,
When they had no chance,
Of getting to that small size to start with,
They just mentally beat themselves up,
Over feeling like a freak,
And cry every night,
When, in fact,
They are the normal size for them,
I just want to cry,
When I see the anorexics of the world die,
Because it seems to be in fashion,
And just as poetry is my passion,
Giving people eating disorders,
Seems to be the name of the game,
These magazines should only be taken lightly,
And don't think that you look unsightly:
Because only five percent of women are thin,
So respect yourself,
Teach others to respect themselves,
And accept themselves as they are,
Because it doesn't matter your size:
You are still a star.
