I lost a friend today. A friend who fearlessly guarded his family. He guarded "his girls" Khushi, Rosie and Kira,a nice furry warm friend to Blossom the cat. sometimes naughty, a great thief of food. an escape artist, who had me scouring the forest for 7 hours one rainy, cold November day, and when eventually found had damaged his leg, resulting in an operation to repair his cruciate ligament.
His younger years we enjoyed many trips to dog shows,winning quite a few,and had the honour of showing him at crufts for several years.
He was proud, arrogant and aloof with strangers,as is his breed . My shadow and a gentleman till the end.
His health only declined in the last few weeks, and last night someone decided he had endured enough pain, and gently took him from me while he slept. My tears will dry and the void you have left will lessen with time.
So run free in the skies my angel, with friends who have passed before.I will remember your silken coat flowing in the breeze,and the loving look in your eyes.I know you will wait for me.
