I just gotta comment on this night...of course. Phil - He really does have a great voice. It's a real shame he looks like he does... but he was excellent in my opinion and Blaze is a great song. Jordin - That was not good. Of all their songs she could have nailed not sure why she chose that one. Lakeeeeesha - One of my favorite Jovi songs and she was awesome! And OMG when he sings it I sweat. lol The best of the night for sure! Blake - What is up with the praise this tool gets? If it was a an Officer Jones from Police Academy contest then he wins hands down with all the frickin sound effects. Sadly when he actually SANG it sounded the best he ever has. Too bad those moments were few and far between. Chris - He asks how can anyone not do Wanted? Um how can you not know the words?? He didn't do THAT bad but it was definitely the same as I sound when I belt it out in the car and that's not good. lol Melinda - It was so strange hearing her voice on that song knowing it like I do but it was aight dawg. p.s. doesn't George have other things to do? |

I enjoyed Melinda, LaKeska and Phil (if I closed my eyes.) Jordin was really not good, but I,m hoping er great performance last week will pull her through. I've never liked either Blake or Chris. My preference would be for them to go. It'll probably be Chris and either Jordin or Kiki. |

I was worried for Melinda all through the show, especially after the COMPLETE TRAVESTY (sorry J, it was a train wreck) that was Jordin's performance. But Melinda delivered, as usual, even in a theme where I thought she would flounder. If she doesn't win this thing, it will be a crime. As for the others: Phil: Creepy and uninspiring (vote-wise) as usual. Again, WHO is voting for this guy? Chris: Alright, nothing special. Lakisha: Another good performance, considering the theme. Blake: What a risk. But I think it was the right time to take it, like Simon noted. They're in the home stretch and it is time to set yourself apart from the crowd, even if it means you risk elimination. I thought it paid off. |

I had to record the show cause i was getting a haircut, but I called my husband on the way home, and Blake was on. My husband was like, "okay, he's doing Bad Name... he's doing his beatbox stuff... huh.... wow.... damn.... this is hot.... this is awesome.... holy shit this kicks ass."
and my husband never says "this is hot." LOL
I watched it when I got home, I had to agree. I loved it. Even if he doesn't win, this kid has a great talent for hearing songs and looking at them in a whole new light, if nothing else, he could become a producer, or whatever it is FatBoy Slim calls himself. Every week I'm excited to see what he's going to do next.
And to see Melinda rock it out, and flash that attitude, I loved it!! She totally pulled it off. That girl can do anything.
Everyone else, I fast forwarded because i got bored half way through.

Why O why didn't Jordin pick a ballad? Bon Jovi has some decent ones, I'm sure. I'm not a big fan, but "Always" and "Bed of Roses" come immediately to mind. |

Yeah, I was really surprised that no one chose to sing either one of those two songs... |

Probably because Jordin shouldn't be singing the following on AI: Sitting here wasted and wounded At this old piano Trying hard to capture The moment this morning I dont know cause a bottle of vodka Is still lodged in my head And some blond gave me nightmares I think shes still in my bed

Phil and Chris have my vote for going home. Phil doesn't have an awful voice...I just find him to be a boring performer and nothing unique about him at all. Sure he was a big voice and can sing in tune but there's nothing special about it really. Chris was kinda meh but it's just getting to the point where there are ok/good singers versus great singers. And it's his time to go. Jordin was off but I didn't think it was awful. Lakisha surprised me. I thought she sang it very well but the first part of the performance was kinda boring. Melinda was great as usual. Blake...I don't know what to say. He will easily be going into the top 4 I think though. |

I'm in the 50% that loves Blake and his beat-boxing. He kinda sorta reminds me of Jamiroqui, not for the beat-boxing but for the tone of his voice. |

I guess I'm a purist, lol. Very unhappy with what Blake did, but then, I don't like seeing people do covers of good songs, songs I love, and/or songs they totally fuck up when they do 'em, lol. |
