Location of the Star Chamber of Isis
The Egyptians knew of the midbrain or lymbic system. They saw it as a collection of "Halls" where the various powers or attributes of certain gods might be contacted.
They called the pituitary the "Star Chamber of Isis," and spoke of it as "having walls of silver that shone with their own light."
The floor of the chamber was spread with "the silt of the sacred Nile." Thousands of years later we rediscovered that the pituitary gives of a slight phospherescence, and that in about 15 percent of people there is a siltlike residue at the bommon of the gland, roughly the same percentage of psychics in the population.
The thalamus was sacred to Ibis-headed Thoth Lord of Books and Magic.
We know "now" that the thalamus is holds memories and learned knowledge.
The amygdala that control much of our sexuality and hormonal urges, was viewed by the Egyptians as the Temple of Hathor, goddess of love, beauty and music.
