Chakras

Chakra are vortexes (spinning wheels) of energy which receive, regulate and disperse  the universal energies we need to function .  They can be visualized as flames or flowers or cones or  as pulsating energy .  However the most common is as a flower with petals.  Chakra are real but the descriptions are usually spiritual metaphor.  Through the chakra we are able to give, receive & sense energy.  Each chakra vibrates at a different frequency and is associated with a particular color.

Chakra  is the Sanskrit word for moving wheel, the chakra are  present in the energy  body and extend into  related locations of the physical body. There are  traditionally seven major chakra and these  function as pathways for energy to be taken in, metabolized and sent to the major nerve center nearest each one. the energy and information that is brought into and processed by the chakra and aura is a major unacknowledged source of fuel for our physical, emotional, mental, intuitive and spiritual existence.

 

Red - Root -  Life force
Red is associated with the first chakra -- Muladhara (Root Support).  It is a hot color that represents our life energy, our physical strength and vitality.  Red is used to increase vitality and to send warmth.

Orange - Sacral - Sexual and Creative
Orange is associated with the second chakra --Svadhisthana (Sweetness, Her Special Abode).  It is a warm color that energizes, invigorates and nourishes.  Orange can bring self-confidence.

Yellow - Solar Plexus -  Energy
Yellow is associated with the third chakra -- Manipura (Lustrous Gem, City of the Shining Jewel).  It is a warm color that can stimulate the nervous system and  effects the mind and emotions.  Yellow can help with mood elevation and alleviates exhaustion and burnout.

Green - Heart -  Love
Green is associated with the fourth chakra -- Anahata (the Pure Sound of Creation).   It is a cool color and a great balancer.  Green can help soothe and bring harmony.

Blue - Throat -  Communications
Blue is associated with the fifth chakra -- Vissudha (Purified).  It is a cool color and brings lightness, peace and calm and helps with sleep.

Indigo - 3rd eye - Mind
Indigo is associated with the sixth chakra -- Ajna (To Perceive, the Qualified Absolute).   It helps build a positive outlook and bring inner strength.

Violet - Crown - Spiritual
Violet is associated with the seventh chakra - Sahasrara (Thousandfold, Thousand Petaled).   It is a regal color and is the color of inner-power.  Violet can bring higher understanding and calm.
