 The Great Quake a few hours ago at root of the Himalayas registered 7.6 as it killed thousands of people, set up a large number of large aftershocks, which included a 6.3 major quake, which are still continuing in a manner similar to the Great Rupture of the Indo Trench in December 2004. 

Early reports  claim death toll is at least 3000.  Early death tolls for quakes in Eurasia, which is primarily built up with un-reinfored masonry which collapses catastrophically in a quake of this magnitude, generally only report a small fraction of the actual death toll.

Even as thousands of buildings collapsed, the Great Quake detroyed the syzygy paradigm as a means of forseeing the most dangerous periods for earthquakes.  This quake is well outside the Lunar syzygy times.  But since Lunar Perigee (closest approach of the Moon to the Earth during its monthly orbit) is October 14, this could be considered to be an early Perigee quake which will be followed by many others during the next 10 days.  This possibility should be taken under seriious advisement. This continental-scale tectonic event may not be over for many days and there could be many additional large aftershocks up to and exceeding 7.6 in magnitude.  Extreme caution in Southern Eurasia, from the Mediterranean through to Southern China is strongly advised.
