I met with the breeder last night and am buying her last chick. I will be making payments (over 4 weekes) and the sooner I get him paid for the sooner he comes home. He is absolutley BEAUTIFUL!!! He is a TAG born on May 21, 2007. He was the only chick born in his clutch of eggs. The breeder is this sweet little old lady who has breed birds all her life. She breeds several types. I saw her avary and the parents (they tried to hide in the nest box) . Everything was very clean. Zeus can right to me let me hold him and stroke his head, chest, and back. he played with my weeding band with his beak. I am SOOOOOOOO excited, trying to pick up extra shifts at work so I can bring him home sooner.

Good for you, Misty!! I can't wait to see picture of your new baby. What are you going to name him? Has he been dna'd? Do you know he is a boy?

I got my Hahns Macaw Beau on "layaway". I visited her after work and on weekends a few times a week during the time I waited to bring her home. That way she knew me quite well when she came home to me. I don't remember exactly, but I think it was five or six weeks before I paid the last and was able to bring her home. That will be four years ago this coming December.

Congratulations, Misty!!

Abby

Abby-

He has not been DNA'd.... HE just seems like a boy to me(silly  I know). His name is more than likely going to be Zeus but I am not a hundrend percent yet. ANd MArie said we could visit as much as I'd like as she is kinda lonely. So it looks like this will be a great deal for both of us...

Maggy-

I am thrilled. This is something I have wanted for years and was beganing to think might not happen. I did the happy dance all the way home and could hardly sleep I was so excited. I am already trying to get extra shifts at work to try and bring him home sooner.

Thanks everyone for the nice words.  I have changed my mind on the name though. We are going to call "her"  Arwen which means evening star. I really don't know about the whole boy girl thing but in my house girls are way out numbered so I decided my TAG would be a girl.....hopefully I won't scar her for life (just kidding).

Congrats, Misty. We have another member who has, or had, an Arwen. Can't remember who it was.
Anyway that name sounds like it could be used for either gender, unlike Zeus, a definite boy name.

Pictures are needed and we will nag you til we see some.
