Hi Everybirdy!
I didn't do the November Whistle so I'm going to try to make up for it here!
How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I had all my kids down and we managed to consume a turkey and a lamb roast with no problem at all.
There are a lot of house projects to keep us busy. At the moment we are tearing up the bathroom and redoing it. We found a antigue dresser that was in rough shape ( yard sales are fun aren't they?) and decided to put a bathroom sink in it! I will take pictures when we are done. We re did the floor and I'm going to paint .
I'm doing some of my baking now as I get a bit carried away at Christmas. Lots of cookies and bread and of course CANDY !
Tomorrow we are going to Des Moines to a huge craft show. We are looking for gifts and some Christmas decorations. We are almost finished with presents so this is mostly for the house.
All the feathered, furry and spiney( hedgehogs) and in great shape, and I have to clean bird cages now so I will sign off and clean like the good little bird slave I am.
Nan

Thanksgiving was good for us also. Daniel has been in the hospital and ER alot this week. He was pushing a truck out of the mud and a rock flew out from the under the tires and hit him in the knee. He was fine for a couple of days but then he was in so much pain he went to the ER Sunday. The doctor told him he has blood and fluid built up in his knee that is pushing on his nerves. He had to go back to the Hospital today and get a refill on his pain killers and they kept him at the hospital because the doctor thought he had a blood clot in his leg, but he doesn't so he is on his way home. The doctor wants to drain his knee soon. So hopefully everything will turn out ok. Tiki is doing good. I haven't even put a dent in my Christmas shopping list yet. Mom got an interview to go work at some law office in Nashville, I hope that turns out well for her. Well we really need the extra money anyways, money has been very tight this year with moving 2 tomes in one month and now Daniel was in the hospital and we don't have insurance. But today I got a letter from SS and hopefully in 2 weeks I can get my SS Card. I have been waiting 4 months. Then I can get my learners permit and drive. I'm so excited. Ok sorry for the book. TTYL Megan

Ouch Pwac! I hope your stepdad feels better soon! That sounds pretty painful...Good luck with your permit!
Abby how is your mom doing? Have they found out anything yet?
Annie how is your newphew doing? Did he have his surgery yet?
We're heading out to the craft show now, and I hope everyone has a great weekend! Nan

Thanks for asking, Nan. Dale is scheduled for surgery on Dec 7. He is getting very nervous. Please keep the prayers going.

Megan, I am surprised at how long it has taken to get your SS card. I got my kids' cards when they were very young but I don't remember it taking very long at all. Good luck with the driver's stuff. Please be a safe and sensible driver.

We are still covered in a blanket of snow. It's melting though and I can see patches of grass.  I had at least a hundred birds in the back yard this morning. They were hungry little fellas.
Then Sonny dog discovered the seeds and leftover pellets and has been out there eating. I hope he doesn't get sick.
Annie

After getting frustrated with MSN and it's "HHHMMMmm" pages,  I turned the computer off yesterday and did all the Christmas decorating.  So we are ready for the little rotund man dressed in the red suit.

We won't be having our Christmas until the 26th or the 27th depending on when Sarah and Tom and their family get here from San Diego.  They'll be spending about a week here so Granny (me) will be getting all her hugs and enjoying the grandsons during that time....I can hardly wait.  di

Turkey day was spent up north, quiet, uneventful, even warm enough to take Ange-Rose for a walk outside.
Got back south ahead of the storm, and settled in for the night. Was going to pick the grandkids up for the weekend to decorate the tree and put lights up outside, but the snow said no. Will get them this coming weekend though.

Don dedicated today to helping me finish painting the upper kitchen cabinets, so we are finally done with that chore.  Tomorrow morning I'll be able to hang my curtain back up over kitchen window and say FINI!  Last year about this time we had new kitchen counter tops put in and I was in a panic as the plumber couldn't get here until the Friday before the kitchen week-end.  This year we are ahead of the game.

Our prayer group is gathering here this evening for a small buffet dinner, but that won't be a problem with the wet paint as it's just upper cabinets.

I never bake for the holidays, but I do like my home to lokk fresh and clean, so I seem to always have some sort of make-over project to do right before the holidays.  di

Dale's (nephew) surgery was cancelled after he was already in the prep room. His pro time was so out of whack that his blood wouldn't have clotted. So he's on meds and they will reschedule him when his tests come out good. They have determined it is a pretty good sized cancer and the kidney does have to come out.
Please keep him in your prayers.
Annie
