Jeremiah 10:16-22

17--Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.

Who is he speaking to?

v18 ~~~~For thus saith the LORD, Behold I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.

v19--Woe is me for my hurt!  my would is grievous: but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.

v20~~~~My tabernacel is spoiled, and all my cords are broken:  my children are gone forth of me,  and they  ARE  NOT:  there is none  to stretch forth my  TENT  any more,  and to set up my  CURTAINS.

v21~~~~For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the  LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

v22~~~~Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of  JUDAH     DESOLATE,  and a den of  DRAGONS.

Now, the question:  who is being spoken of?   Whose  'tabernacle'  is being done away with?   Who was slung  out? Who slung them out?  Whose 'tent and curtains' is it about.

The answers are marvelous!!!!!    Happy searching!

The answer to this question is simple.  There is only one thing which can be the answer.

If you have a concordance please look up the words 'tent'  and 'curtain';  you will find that these are solely O.T. words.  True!!!   These words are NOT even one time found in the N.T.

You will find that the tent and curtain are primarily for the housing of the ark of the covenant ---- which is the LAW.

What was housed under these tents and curtains?   The tables of stone = the  LAW.

Now look at this:
Isaiah 49:20--The  CHILDREN  which thou shalt have,  AFTER  thou hast lost the other,  shall say again in thine ears,  The place is too strait for me:  give place to me that I may dwell.

v21--Then shalt thou say in thine heart,  Who hath begotten me these,  seeing  I have lost  my  children,  and am   DESOLATE,  a captive,  and removing to and fro?  and who hath brought up these?  Behold, I was  LEFT  ALONE;    these,  where  had  they been?
v23-- speaks of his children coming from the Gentiles. = N.T.

Jesus came unto his own,  and his own received him not.  But to those of us who did receive him,  God gave us the power to become  SONS  OF   GOD.

There you have it.

When Jesus came in the flesh,  he came to the Jews = the law.  He came under the law;  to the law people.  But they received him not.

They were his first children ---- the ones he lost.

That Ark of the Covenant = the tables of stone = the law, the old testament work of God,  dwelt under tents and curtains.  But when Jesus came out of the grave, he found that other group of children -- he was amazed at how many they were.  He said that is Isaiah 49,  "where did all these children come from'  I was left alone ----   at the cross he was left alone------ they all forsook him.

He lost those law children------  he set them  DESOLATE-------  SEE IT SAID  JER. 10:22---THEY SET THE CITIES OF   JUDAH   DESOLATE-----  Jesus told Jerusalem,  you are left  DESOLATE.

See it is the law----  the O.T. covenant was left  DESOLATE.

See, after Pentecost, there was no one to stretch out that law tent and curtain any more.  Now he has children from the Gentiles =  the Grace Covenant.

The OT pastors ( priests and prophets)  had become bruitesh.  all this is also prophesy for when the present church follows suit.

It will happen again.
