Wonderful question, Isaiah. The answer is even more wonderful!!! The answer is something I have only recently discovered. It will be a great day for millions if they can learn this. We find in Romans 7 that Paul is describing the horrible, terrible, wretched condition of mankind UNDER THE LAW. Now many will question this; but if you will carefully read this chapter, you will see it is very clearly the subject. Paul showed that mankind was alive once (verse 9)-- WITHOUT THE LAW. But the commandment came, sin revived, and I (mankind) DIED. Sin is the transgression of the LAW. Without the LAW is NO SIN. That is how the blood of Jesus, His Grace sets us free from sin, wretchedness, and missery. This is why Paul was so AMAZED (shown in Gala.) that Christians, who had been delivered from the BODY OF THAT DEATH, would so soon desire to be again IN THAT BONDAGE. For proof, read Romans 8:1~~~~ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, (the LAW) but after the Spirit. v2~For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the LAW OF SIN AND DEATH. Now, there is you BODY OF DEATH = the Old Testament group or body of people who were in bondage under the Law of Moses. Why would anyone prefer this to the freedom of life under Grace. Many people think they can be under both covenants; but Paul and Jesus showed it is IMPOSSIBLE. You are either under one or the other --- Paul said if you go back to the law, you FALL FROM GRACE. See, showing you cannot be under both. Jesus said you cannot serve two masters. If you are not for, you are against. You cannot be nuteral. |
